Ramasamy, Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University opined that human activities are changing the earths climate and this is having an impact on all ecosystems. Atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide have risen to current levels possibly a hundred times faster than at any other time. He was inaugurating the 11th Annual Review Meeting of the DST Project on Medium Range Weather Forecasting and Experimental Agro-meteorological Advisory Services at KAU on November 27. He stressed the need to develop site specific technologies in agro-meteorology to manage climate risk and explore opportunities in agriculture. He said that climate is the most important input in agriculture and often causing widespread damage. Dr. K. V. Peter, Vice-Chancellor, KAU presided over the function. Dr. S.V. Singh, Head, NCMRWF, New Delhi delivered keynote address. Dr. K. N. Shyamasundaran Nair, Former Vice-chancellor, KAU, Dr. Y. S. Ramakrishna, Project Co-ordinator, AICRPAM, ICAR and Dr. S.K.
