While parts of the budget were leaked in the weeks preceding February 3, the humanities community was surprised at the size of the requested increase for the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). While NEH officials had spoken in various ways of an increase, no one whom NHA contacted had expected $25 million a 22% increase. A table appears below detailing the $152 million request for NEH.
