Phenomenal novel. Every teenager has to read this
If you're a young adult/older teenager like me then you probably scroll around the internet a lot. I've been finding quotes from this book all over Tumblr, Facebook, etc. so I decided to buy the novel. I was not disappointed in the slightest. It was filled with such fantastic literary inspiration. It's really something else. It contains everything from first love, grief, change and loss. I can without a doubt relate to the main character Pudge in the 'after' section. I won't reveal any spoilers but I went through the exact same thing he did (exactly to the 'T') and went on the same adventure he did. But, like Pudge and The Colonel, I had the exact same results. The book reminded me of this time since the characters reactions were so real and raw and that I found myself having to stop reading and almost cried from the emotion of it all. The situations in the book really brought me back and I felt like I lost my friend again. It's a very heart warming book and it was extremely nostalgic for me--I felt like I like I did when I was an underclassmen in high school (I'm a college student now). I highly recommend this book. I wish I read it as a freshmen when I was in high school. It certainly holds strong life lessons and incredible quotes to live by.

Looking for Alaska
The novel,Looking for Alaska, is an excellent young adult novel.It holds your attention as you know something will happen with the characters because of their risk taking behaviors but the author keeps weaving the suspense and building it until the final drop.Very well written.Many will see themselves in this book and wonder how close they came to replicatng what happens.

Amazing!
This book was so awesome! It is the craziest most exciting book i think i've ever read. This book is very funny and is sooooo shocking you never know whats coming when u read this book. John Green wrote a epic book!

Not your run of the mill coming of age story
This is a book for all ages. Yes, it's characters are teens but the issues in the story are ones that any age can identify with. Feeling left out, social misfits, finding out who you are and who your friends are, feeling accepted, and the BIG one-death and what we believe comes after and how we deal with it. It's characters come alive and time and time again I found myself thinking "I've felt like that, too" You want to become a part of this gang and would be proud to call them your friends. It portrays teens as they really are with smoking, alcohol and sex and how difficult it can be to deal with peer pressure. Most of all it is a story of developing true friendships and how painful losing a friend is.

Fantastic!
This is one of my favorite books for sure. In my opinion no part of the book is boring, its unlike a lot of books that start out very slow and then eventually get interesting. great book
This is a very interesting book, and I really enjoyed it. You feel as if you are there. It is really amazing what this young woman had to go through. I couldn't put it down.

How touching
I bet it's been 20 years since I read this book and I often still think of the characters. I am a public school teacher and this taught me an aspect of cultural sensitivity and how kids can be caught between 2 cultures and 2 time periods. Alaska is an exciting place in any time period.

I highly recommend this anyone who enjoys history and a good love story.

WOW!
I am an avid reader who focuses more on writing excellence than I do on the plot....a workplace friend handed me a very damaged hardcopy of this book when she returned from visiting Alaska..saying, "read it, I think you'll like it"...Needless to say it did not pique my interest but after keeping it for a few months, I decided to at least take a peek at it before returning it.Several pages convinced me that it was indeed a worthy read and it was one of those books that you can't bear to put down and, toward the end, read slowly because you don't want to part with the characters.The dialog was excellent and having worked in primitive areas myself, I felt Cab, Mr. Vaughn and Titus Paul to be most believable. This is a book to be enjoyed by all ages and I can't wait to gift my friends with copies of it.
