I don't like how most fisheries books don't have pictures
I know that I'm in college, but in a biology type text book I like pictures, and I have noticed that in most fisheries text books there are none.Well, this book isn't any different.It is very informative, but also very borring. ... Read more

Excellent Freshwater Farming Tips
My brother has started a successful fish farm based on this book...and he's making very good money, what else can I say!

too costly for too little information
I was extremely disappointed for something that purports to be the "complete guide".

In fact this book is a basic intro to the subject, with some pretty pictures...apparently what you are paying for.

BRILLIANT, Just Brilliant
Nick is a Genius.
He covers Many thing most people do not even think about. This is a vitally important "must read" book for anyone who want to get 20 years worth of practical realistic experience in a matter of days or weeks.
I recommend that you re-read this book several times like I am. I keep finding things the next time I read the book which did not "click" the previous time I looked.
Anyone investing in medium to large scale aquaponics will save tens of thousands of dollars at least with the advice given here.
I see so many of the mistakes explained here which we made when I first started in this industry 30 years ago.

Good enjoyable reading about aquaculture
This book is a basic guide to the beginner in the field and anyone just thinking to set up own pond.
To my view the weak part of this book is that it is way too general to make final decission based on information in this book. It could have been going in each chapter into more detail, examples etc.
What makes it good for reading is wery good structure of chapters, which lets anyone starting to think about aquaculture to capture the full range of aquacultures available. There are many usefull tips ranging from what to choose, what to check, what to avoid prior taking the shovel in hand and here I found it inspiring and usefull.

A good source
This volume is a good introduction into the complex issue of aquaculture sustainability. It is an important reference to have.
