Massimiliano Fuksas was born in 1944 in Rome and opened his own architecture studio in 1967. After concentrating his work in Italy, his attention turned to France and he founded another office in Paris in 1989. His creations - social housing areas, schools, sports halls, cemeteries, art galleries - have brought him a reputation. Dolf Schnebli (born 1928) received his degree at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. Having his office first in Ticino and then in Zurich, he soon became one of the most successful and respected Swiss architects. Among his numerous remarkable realizations are the Swiss school in Naples, the Legal Faculty of Washington University and the housing development in Littau/Lucerne. From 1971 to 1994 Schnebli worked as a professor at the renowned Swiss Federal Technical University (ETH) in Zurich. His teaching, inspired by practice, has made an impression on several generations of young architects.
