She has 2 young owlets she is raising this spring and they have each been eating 8 to 10 mice a day for several weeks now. They are almost full grown. Soon they will be moved on to a larger flight mew where they can practice flying and grow stronger. The Avian Reconditioning Center... a specialized wildlife facility where large outdoor enclosures will allow for physical reconditioning and natural weatherproofing of recuperating birds of prey, also known as raptors. In many cases this "physical therapy" is necessary to provide the birds with a more realistic chance of survival once released to the wild. Using traditional falconry techniques, The Avian Reconditioning Center (ARC) will also prepare and pre-release train young orphaned and/or injured raptors to hunt, thereby greatly increasing the odds of their survival in their natural habitat.
