African-American History was chosen as a topic because of its importance, popularity and the wealth of Internet resources available on the topic. What we hope to add to this richness are some specific strategies for integrating the Web into learning. So rather than merely send learners to a Web site, we've arranged separate formats designed to support different kinds of learning. Read the blurbs below or check out Working the Web for Education to help you decide which activities you might want to use.

Lesson Plans The following lesson plans were developed for the Delaware black HistoryProject. These lesson plans are separated to coincide with each unit. http://www.udel.edu/BlackHistory/listoflessons.html
Extractions: Howard Career Center The following lesson plans were developed for the Delaware Black History Project. These lesson plans are separated to coincide with each unit. They are, by no means, exhaustive. Because each individual who teaches these units has his or her own instructional methods, these lesson plans are to be used as a guide for the instructor. Each plan shares certain commonalities. Students should begin each unit by reading the material prepared by the authors. This serves as an introduction to the topic for the students. Furthermore, students are asked to define key terms and concepts. They are directed to primary source material. They are encouraged to analyze applicable charts, graphs, and maps. Lastly, critical thinking questions are included, along with research topics to be developed. The critical thinking questions are designed to measure the student's mastery of the topic. Although there is no day-to-day format for the implementation of these lesson plans, the various resources and activities presented are conducive to the development of two to three 45-minute class periods. It is best used at the point of writing dialogue and stage/acting directions in the playwriting process. This is also a good way to introduce the students to each other at the beginning of a semester, or as part of the community building process, or as a way to further tighten the community sense throughout the semester and to encourage cooperative behavior."
