Coverage is worldwide, and some titles have been included that are not strictly biographical, in order to provide coverage for lesser-known artists. Small Bios from an age gone bye...
"Saints Alive: a collection of 22 human interest stories about real people who have met God" by James R. Adair is a book of small biographies of people mainly from or had come through the Chicago area in the 1940's and 1950's.Most of the people might have been well known back in 1951 others are just normal Joes.From what I could tell these are reprints from the old "Power" teenage Sunday-school paper which was published by Scripture Press in Chicago (Which is now David C. Cook in Colorado).

The reason I actually picked it up was because the forward to the book was written by A.W. Tozer .I am a huge Tozer fan and I figured if he wrote the forward to it - it was a book well worth reading.And this book is well worth the read.
Some of the stories involve people of all different backgrounds from a barber, to a shoe maker, to a politician, to an Opera Singer who was in the Marx Brother's film "A Night at the Opera", to a Death Row inmate.All of them were sold out for the Lord and reached many for Christ.It was a very challenging book causing me to ask "What am I really doing for the Lord?" - These types of books are always a good checkpoint inducer.

If you can find a copy of this book it is well worth the read.It is a quick and easy read but can also be very uplifting and challenging at the same time.
