Last year he finished his 15th year on staff as our campus director, but passes that responsibility to Joe Linstedt this year and returns with a lighter load of duties, but more enthusiasm than ever. Dave was born and raised in Southern California, which he left after high school to attend the University of Montana where he studied Recreation Management. In 1985, Dave graduated from UofM with a bachelors of science degree and joined Campus Crusade staff, where upon he traveled to places such as Myrtle Beach,South Carolina, San Diego, Lake Tahoe and inner city Los Angeles in California, and overseas to the countries Romania, Bulgaria, Russia and the Philippines. Dave eventually came to Colorado to attain a masters degree in Philosophy of Religion from Denver Seminary in 1996. Since 1998, he has been on the campus of our very own Colorado State University where he became director until this recent year as mentioned above. We are very lucky to have had, and continue to have Dave with us witnessing to the students of our university. If you would like to contact Dave about Real Life, CSU or about stint and summer projects, you can call him at 970-484-4304, but it would be better to e-mail him at

Extractions: Facts: One of the deepest divers is the Sperm whale, which can dive more than 1 km or as deep as 3 km in search of food, and can stay underwater for almost 2 hours. Whales withstand enormous water pressure when diving deep, so they carry air down only in their lungs and other respiratory passages. Thus, little nitrogen is dissolved in the blood to cause the "bends." Whales are warm-blooded; a thick layer of insulating fat (as thick as 20 inches in some whales) keeps their body 96.8 degrees. Whales can hurl themselves out of the water completely ("breach") and produce tremendous splashes. Humpback whales are known for their beautiful tail extensions out of the water. They can remain in this position for up to fifteen minutes at a time. To mark their positions and strongholds, whales splash the water with their tails and can be heard from great distances.
