Extractions: Now that you have all your supplies together, lets make a message board! Measure the spot where you want your message board to hang. The wall message board I made was 20" x 24" and the locker message board was 6" x 9". Use a sharp knife to cut your styrofoam to the desired size. Cut a piece of fabric so it is approximately 3 inches larger than your styrofoam piece. Lay your piece of fabric face down on a hard surface. Lay the styrofoam centered on top of the material. Glue the fabric onto one of the long edges of the styrofoam, let cool. Glue the material onto the opposite side, pulling the fabric tight so it is smooth on the front side.

(Please note: You may already have a cork board that can be repurposed for this project, and because bulletin boards come in various sizes and shapes, materials and instructions do not recommend specific quantities. Instead, instructions are given so that you may calculate materials needed to complete this project.) You'll Need: Fabric To determine how much fabric you'll need, measure the cork portion only of the bulletin board and add 4" inches to the height and 4" to the width. Cut fabric to size. Ribbon To determine how much ribbon you'll need, multiply the width x height of the bulletin board in inches. Determine yardage by dividing that number by 36". (If it seems like a lot of ribbon- it is. The small board done in the photo took 5 yards of ribbon.)

With the help of others, he founded Jumpstart, an organization that matches college students and youngsters in one-to-one sessions that help the kids charge up for learning. The Jumpstart mission is "to engage young people in service to work toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed." Extractions: Advertisement QuickTime movie of LCAC "flying" across the water during Kernel Blitz '97 . (This movie is 1.232 MB) Description: Air cushion craft for transporting, ship-to-shore and across the beach, personnel, weapons, equipment, and cargo of the assault elements of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force. Features: The landing craft air cushion (LCAC) is a high-speed, over-the-beach fully amphibious landing craft capable of carrying a 60-75 ton payload. It is used to transport weapons systems, equipment, cargo and personnel from ship to shore and across the beach. The advantages of air-cushion landing craft are numerous. They can carry heavy payloads, such as an M-1 tank, at high speeds. Their payload and speed mean more forces reach the shore in a shorter time, with shorter intervals between trips. The air cushion allows this vehicle to reach more than 70 percent of the world's coastline, while conventional landing craft can land at only 15 percent of the coasts. Background: Thirty-three air-cushion landing craft were authorized and appropriated through FY86. An additional 15 were funded in FY89, 12 more in FY90 and FY91. The remaining 24 were funded in FY92. As of December 1995, 82 LCACs had been delivered to the Navy.

Holding Your Own Craft Show Home shows, kitchen parties, (a Maritime term) craft markets and mall shows Putup signs on local bulletin boards, in grocery stores and distribute flyers http://www.oldfashionedliving.com/craftshows.html
Extractions: By Mary Wilkins Home shows, kitchen parties, (a Maritime term) craft markets and mall shows - whatever you choose to call it. This is an event you yourself create if you wish to sell your handcrafted work. It is a lot of work, but it can be fun at the same time. With some forethought and careful planning, you can turn a profit as well. Your first thought should be, where will I hold this event. Secondly, do I do this alone as a one-woman show or will there be a group. If there is more than one person, then obviously your choice of space will reflect that. You will also need more organisation. Ample lighting is so very important. Bright, but not blinding lights add to the exciting atmosphere you want. All electrical cords should be out of sight, or at least anchored down with very wide tape so there is no chance of an accident. Cleanliness is also very important. It will reflect on you and your products.
Advent Meanings And Craft Ideas Advent Meanings and craft Ideas By The Rush'd Lady. Nice to hang in thewindow or on bulletin boards. Look for pictures of snowflakes. http://www.oldfashionedliving.com/holidays/advent1.html
Extractions: By The Rush'd Lady Editor's Notes: The Rush'd Lady was kind enough to share this wonderful presentation on advent that she put together for her church. She also included the crafts they helped the children make! Advent is an European custom and it prepares us for the birth of the Christ Child. We begin in the weeks preceding the holiday (Holy Day) we celebrate as Jesus' birthday by lighting a candle on each of the four Sundays before Christmas and with the "Hanging of the Greens" service in our church. It sounds the keynote we are to remember as to the reason for the season. (Isaiah 60:13). Greenery in the midst of winter symbolizes eternal life which we are to receive from the One to Come, the Christ Child (Matthew 1:21). He is to come to save us from our sins. The other colors of the season are also symbolic of the Christ - white is the purity of Jesus from who he comes and red is the blood shed for us in his act of self-sacrifice. Along with the hanging of the greens, usually we sing Christmas carols or songs of the Holy Season. These also helps us remember the story of Jesus' birth. Did you know the first Christmas carol was sung by angels? (Luke 2:8-14). Angels were the "news anchors" of their day (in other words, heralds or messengers).

ChildFun.com For Sale? out of that bloomed another seven discussion lists, five newsletters, and a sendingour ecards, connecting with others on our bulletin boards and surfing the http://www.childfun.com/sale.shtml
Extractions: So, you've heard the rumors that ChildFun.com is for sale. Is it true? I am sad to say, yes. ChildFun started not as a website, but as a discussion list. One small list, hosted at a free server, with about 20 other women. Somehow, out of that bloomed another seven discussion lists, five newsletters, and a website with thousands of pages of crafts, activities, art ideas, recipes, and parenting advice. How it ever made that jump, to be honest, I am not really sure. Since starting back in 1996, we went from a small newsletter list of about 30 people to well over 400,000 unique visitors and 3.5 million page views per month. There are now thousands of people using our chat rooms, sending our e-cards, connecting with others on our bulletin boards and surfing the site each day. We've been featured in Woman's Own Magazine, ZDTV News, Kare 11 News, KMSP News, WCCO Radio, and People Magazine, as well as several other radio stations, tv stations, newspapers and magazines. Unlike so many recent dot.com dismal failures, ChildFun isn't run differently. It doesn't have venture capital, It doesn't have a staff. It doesn't even have office space. My desk is in my living room! Everything you see on the site - it was put there by me. When you write to ChildFun with a question, it gets answered by me. When someone writes and asks to talk to the ad rep or the marketing manager or the content developer, again, that would be me.
