Extractions: PRNewswire ``The Clinton Administration's renewed commitment to supporting the homosexual agenda will kill justice in the courtroom, ethics in the classroom, and readiness on the battlefield,'' Family Research Council's Chief Spokeswoman Janet Parshall said Thursday. President Bill Clinton pledged Wednesday to again foist on Congress the ``hate crimes bill,'' which calls for unequal treatment of criminals based on the victim's sexual behavior. Also on Wednesday, Vice President Al Gore pledged that all future appointees to the Joint Chiefs of Staff must embrace open homosexuality in the military. ``Gore's commitment to litmus tests on homosexuality further implicates this Administration in contributing to the breakdown of the American family,'' Parshall said. ``Requiring Joint Chiefs of Staff appointees to embrace open homosexuality violates military principles and forces them to put political correctness before readiness,'' said Lt. Col. Robert Maginnis, FRC's Senior Director for National Security and Foreign Affairs. ``This position is highly offensive and unpopular to the vast majority of service members. The military is one of the last bastions of society that has not been completely forced to succumb to the homosexual agenda; however, retention of volunteers in our military is suffering because of the Clinton Administration's drive to use the military as a petri dish for liberal social policies.'' Maginnis is scheduled to appear on PBS's ``The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer'' Thursday evening to discuss homosexuality and the military.
