5-0 out of 5 stars Bullying is getting worse...this book can really help.
Having two school age children who have at one time or another faced bullying, and having been bullied myself as a child, I can completely relate to this book's topic. School age bullying is a problem for both children and their parents, especially these days with internet bullying as prevalent as it is.This book is an excellent resource for parents to learn how to deal with the various bullying situations that arise. It's well written and understandable, but even better, the ideas presented are actionable. You can learn and take effective, proactive steps to resolve the pain your child is feeling if you apply the methods taught in this book. And for those parents of bullies, there's help for you, too.So many parents don't realize they and their actions may be the reason for their children's anti-social behavior.
I give this book a 5 star rating as the go to book if you're faced with a situation where your child is bullied and they need your help to get through it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Everything was great.
This product arrived on time and the condition was as it was described. I would buy from this vendor again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Tool!
Basic but thorough instruction for the new teacher. It is my Bible because it contains helpful information regarding most aspects of a teaching position.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Teaching Encyclopedia
The book by Davis is more of an encyclopedia. It is a reference manual for teachers, and includes an exhaustive list of anything you ever wanted to know about teaching a class. However, the coverage of each topic is extremely brief, and typically limited to a small paragraph of 3-4 sentences. It is a very good guide, but outside reading would be required to fully answer questions many new teachers may have.

5-0 out of 5 stars How to Teach a University Course
This book clearly shows how to successfully teach a university course.Teachers with no experience can use it to keep their heads above water, while those with experience can learn a trick or three and sharpen their skills or dig themselves out of a teaching rut.

Preparing, syllabuses, classroom instruction, dealing with GSIs, and much more are discussed, as well as using newer technology, including RSS and instant messaging. The book is based off of research and has a thorough bibliography for digging deeper. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great reference
A great, ongoing reference where most of the date specific material applies to every year. I'm still using an outdated one at work, and I bought this one for my home use.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Reference Tool for Homeschooling
I have already recommended this book to countless friends and professionals. This book is well-loved. :) My 4th gr. son and I recently began our homeschooling adventures together. We have always supplemented his education with extracurricular topics, and went on a search for books to assist us this year. Lo and behold, we found our "Book of Books!"

Every weekend, we look at important events or interesting facts which are listed for the following week (or month as the case may be). We love the extra footnote reference tools they suggest, such as additional books, websites, movies, etc to check out which then furthers our studies and increases his (and my!)knowledge. The tangent studies we have gone off and done because of these suggestions have been fun!

It is simply amazing to use, and has far more than I expected. So many facts, almost so little time ;) It has a very handy and thorough index of subjects, and appendix-style tools such as information about the US presidents, state governments, and four of our favorites: Holidays, American Library Association, Caldecott and Newberry Award Winning Books. We look at our favorites regularly for fun days to plan, or interesting/thought-provoking/beautiful books to investigate and read independently or together.

Should the day come when he is re-enrolled in a traditional school, we will still be purchasing the book for the relevant year, and keep learning neat things about the day/week/month, as well as the world around is. HIGHLY recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Teaches more than facts
I love these calendars..I buy one every year now.I type up calendars for each month of what we are doing, and for empty days, or weekends, I add the facts and informatio from this book.Last year, when they discovered it was Blue Ribbon week for Child Abuse awareness, my kids planned, implemented, and succeed in fundraising for the local shelter.I teach English I Honors, and while many of them are proactive anyway, giving them a direction in which to travel helps a lot.Websites and other important information is listed with each entry, and a lot of my kids have learned more about the world outside of their small town just through this exposure. ...
