This book is based on a Masters degree thesis on perceptions of social workers' on juvenile crime prevention in Sweden. Interviews with six social workers working with young offenders were conducted. The results were analyzed from a transnational perspective utilizing the author's experiences as a Probation Officer in Kenya.The book explores causes of juvenile delinquency and discusses the prevention strategies in place using the main theories of crime. The causes of delinquency in Kenya and in Sweden are identified and prevention programs perceived as effective discussed. The key finding of this study is that the juvenile justice system in Sweden is not working as it should and something need to be done to improve it .
