They include: English as a Second Language (ESL) Grades 9-10-11-12 No credit Learning Support A support program is available to give assistance to high school students in their regular high school courses, with the aim that every student should be enabled to reach his or her full potential. The classroom teachers, high school counselor, parents, previous school, or the Director of Support Services may recommend students to have assistance from the support program. Students themselves may also request help. The support takes a variety of forms across all grade levels and subject areas. Classes may be provided for small groups in English and/or math to provide remedial coverage of specific high school courses in these subjects. Sometimes, students may also benefit from in-class support. In this latter case, the students are helped with the subject matter of a particular course within the classroom.

The work of the counselor in the Middle School is directly related to the philosophy and mission statement. Services are offered in individual and group settings and are remedial and preventative in nature. A curriculum for affective or character education has been developed, listing skills in the areas of emotional, social and career awareness. The counselor enrolls the students and supervises the orientation of new students to the school. The counselor also works closely with other members of the school community to monitor and create a positive learning environment. Students can see the counselor by requesting an appointment time. Parents may call for an appointment to discuss their child's progress at any time. The years of early adolescence present special challenges as well as opportunities for all members of the family. The counselor is available to also consult with the grade level teams, provide crisis intervention, present classroom guidance lessons and assist with special needs and studies in academic policies and parent and faculty in-services. A partial list of services which are provided by the counselor include academic guidance, individual counseling, liaison with grade and subject area teams, career education, parent consultation and education, classroom presentations, group counseling, monitoring of academic progress and liaison with the Student Study Team.
