Product Description
Pimsleur has been a recognized name in language training for decades. Now Audiofy audiobook chip editions of Pimsleur's "English as a Second Language" courses shrink the traditional binder of a dozen cassettes or CDs into a tiny memory card - yielding an affordable, durable, more portable product. Each Audiofy audiobook chip, hardly larger than a stamp, holds an unabridged course with 15 hours or more of digital audio, and saves the last listening position automatically (unlike CDs).Created for adult learners, the English for Mandarin speakers program offers 30 half-hour lessons emphasizing good pronunciation, common courtesy and fundamental vocabulary for travel needs and helpful interaction with native speakers. While Pimsleur courses focus on speaking rather than reading or writing, a small booklet of optional reading material offers practice recognizing and pronouncing common words. This Audiofy audiobook chip edition can be played on Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh desktop computers or laptops (Microsoft Windows XP/2000/Me/98, or Apple Mac OS X 10.3.9 and above) using an SD memory card slot or adapter, like those for digital cameras. Audiobook chips also move seamlessly to most Palm OS and Pocket PC handheld PDAs with SD expansion slots, as well as Treo and Windows Mobile "smartphones" (Palm OS 5.2 or Windows Mobile 2002 and above).Audiofy audiobook chips avoid the lengthy downloading or "syncing" of other digital formats. Audiofy audiobook chips offer "no look" navigation, announcing your listening position with two button clicks and letting you jump to other lessons in seconds. It's also ideal for anyone hindered by the small displays on some devices. Since university linguist Dr. Paul Pimsleur designed courses that are almost entirely audio-based, they are suitable for traveling, commuting or exercising. With Audiofy audiobook chips, this proven technique is now more convenient than ever. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This is all you need to speak PERFECT AMERICAN ENGLISH
Back in 1998 my boss gave me this course saying that these 3 tapes will help me get rid of my accent and speak perfect english, all I said was thank you.I took it home and put it away. I never open those tapes, I didn't even care about the 3 small booklets that come with it. I thought it must be boring.3 weeks ago, (May 2006) I decided to listen to those tapes because I was promoted in my job (a different job from what I had back in 1998) and I felt that I needed to improve my pronunciation because I was going meet with different people, all americans. I regret I never opened those tapes before, my pronunciation has improve A LOT, I would say 80% not because I say so but because that is what I hear from my boss and people I have been talking to lately.Don't spend more money than what this course costs. Not worth it.These tapes are all you need to improve your pronunciation.
P.S. Not for beginners of ESL. This course is for people that speak English as a second language and wants to speak PERFECT AMERICAN ENGLISH.Si quieres mejorar tu pronunciacion y hablar perfecto ingles americano, no busques mas, esto es todo lo que necesitas.... They still sale tape players at the store, go get one, that's another $15.00 for it.Todavia venden tocacintas o caseteras en la tienda, solo cuestan $15.00 es todo. ... Read more

From the supplier: Business communication (BM) educators believe that international students enrolled in BM courses need special skill building and practice in oral, written and group communication methods. A cooperative-learning, problem-based learning model is presented to assist business faculty in developing a special instructional methodology which emphasizes critical thinking skills for international students. This learning model will only be successful if it offers adequate interdisciplinary content, if the students cooperate and work on their lessons and if educators act as mentors and coaches to students.
