Be A Player : News you in layman's terms why I think Be A player Memorabilia is such an impressive brandof hockey cards. Take a few minutes to check some of the bios out for http://www.baptradingcards.com/news/tsac_9_8.html
Extractions: Be A Player Trading Cards News Yeah, I know. Some people call these the dog days of summer. The baseball pennant races are heating up. The NFL season is underway. Hockey players are trying to get a last few rounds of golf in before they start formally preparing for the season. But for the card manufacturers, hockey season is already in full swing. Here at In the Game, that point was driven home with the release of our first hockey card product for 2001-02, the Be A Player Memorabilia Series. Sure, it may be a little early for those of you who prefer not to think about hockey until the season starts and the weather cools down. But there are plenty of you out there who can't get enough, no matter what time of year. If you fall in that category, may I whole-heartedly recommend our new Memorabilia Series to you. Some of you may think it's relatively easy for a company employee to extol the virtues of his own products. Sure, it would be difficult to prove I am completely unbiased these days when it comes to hockey cards. I remain, however, a lifelong collector. I also like to think that my 10-plus years of experience as a hobby journalist helps maintain a degree of objectivity. So bear with me here while I attempt to convince you in layman's terms why I think Be A Player Memorabilia is such an impressive brand of hockey cards. The first thing I like is the design of the base set. The photography is very nice, the colours are vivid, and the layout is sharp. I like it better than last year's Memorabilia base card design. Based on input we received from collectors who have seen this year's version, many of you agree with that assessment.

Slapshot-DVD Review The Hanson's also give a screenspecific commentary. the film from a professionalhockey player point of some production notes and mini-bios and filmographies http://www.wusftv.usf.edu/Cinemat_Mar02/DVD_Slapshot.htm
Extractions: What do you get when you team up director George Roy Hill and Paul Newman? Evidently a classic movie. They did it three times: first with BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID (1969), then with THE STING (1973) and finally with SLAP SHOT (1977). While SLAP SHOT may not be as universally admired as the other two, it is generally regarded as the one of the best sports movies ever made. While Newman's Reggie Dunlop is the focus of the film, it's the hockey loving Hanson Brothers that steal the show. David Hanson and brothers Jeff and Steve Carlson are real life hockey players on whom writer Nancy Dowd based the screenplay and are playing themselves. The clothes, music and sets are very dated today, but the movie is still a comedic gem with great characters and a solid love of the game. And since SLAP SHOT is still popular (and profitable for Universal), it is only logical that, even if it doesn't need it we get..

Extractions: The Sporting News Are the Penguins about to take a nose dive in the Eastern Conference standings? Well, GM Craig Patrick did nothing to make fans think otherwise this offseason, losing the second most productive player in franchise history and getting next to nothing for now in return. Although the Rangers offered more experienced players for Jaromir Jagr, their offer also came with salaries steeper than Patrick was willing to assume. So instead, Patrick peddled Jagr to the Capitals. The jury on this trade for centers Kris Beech and Michal Silvak and defenseman Ross Lupaschuk will be out for possibly several years.

Extractions: Two days off. Our match this past Sunday was the last of an exhausting stretch of seven matches in eleven days. The team was clearly tired after all of these matches, particularly as a result of the final road trip to Georgia Tech and Clemson over the weekend. We were definitely disappointed after the weekend because as a whole we played quite well and came very close to winning three matches at the top of our lineup, which would've been enough to upset Georgia Tech. Coach Boland recognized that our guys were a little beat up after the past eleven days and rewarded us with two days off. After these two days, we'll begin the final stretch of our season, where we have our last five regular season matches and ACC Tournament. Wednesday, April 3
