4-0 out of 5 stars Reversing Heart disease by Dr. Whitaker
I recommend this book.It is very informative.I followed Dr. Whitaker's book on Reversing Diabetes and learned to keep my blood sugar within limits through his book.Unfortunately, my heart concition was too far advanced so I decided not to risk a non-surgical method. However, if you are in a heart condition with time to implement some of his heart procedures I am sure they will help.I had two 100% stoppages and two 90% stoppages so I had no running room. You will learn a lot from anything Dr. Whitaker writes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Experience
I was very pleased with the purchase of the book.I would do business with this firm in the future should I need to purchase another book.

5-0 out of 5 stars ONLY OPTION LEFT..
I had an angioplasty in 1998 at the age of 33 for a90% blocked LAD.AfterwardI took my cardioligsts advice to take up distance running as a hobby.

From 1998 to 2006 I ran 5-7 miles a day and felt great w/out any pain ever.I also took 75 mg of zocar to control high cholestoral.

In 2006 I had life changing personal and financial problems, stopped exercising and stopped taking medication.

Sure enough about six months like this I started feeling Angina anytime I tried to exercise. It got worse and worse to the point where 3 months ago I would have severe chest pain and pain down my left arm every time I walked up a flight of stairs.

I was trying to exercise but could not get my heart over 90bpm w/out severe chest pain and left arm pain.I even had angina while lying down resting.
I have no health insurance and very little money so I pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I might have a fatal heart attack like my older brother did 11 yrs ago. This was an awful thing to think about everyday, I felt doomed.

With no other options, I purchased Dr. Whittikers book and followed the program as outlined in the book in regard to diet, supplements and exercise.

The only other thing I did additionally is takenitro befor I exercised.

After 3 months of religiously following the program I feel much better and have no angina resting and can get my pulse to 140bpm on the exercise bikew/out pain.

The best thing is I don't feel doomed to have a heart attack anymore.

5-0 out of 5 stars lots of good info
Bought for my dad to use for his hear and blockage issues. Alas, he does not use it and continues on with the bacon and meat diet.if he uses it it will help. I tried a few of the recipes and they are easy and taste good.Itis on his shelf should he change his mind. . .

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Heart Disease Book I've Seen!
I've read quite a few books on the subject, and this is the best I've seen.It includes everything from the technical to the practical (including recipes). The author writes clearly...it was relatively easy to read considering the subject matter.I loved that he didn't say "you should never eat______."It can already be so overwhelming to make changes. This book has a lot of information, but I didn't feel overwhelmed.I was actually ENCOURAGED, not discouraged by reading it.I wish I had only bought this book...it's all I needed, and I would have saved a lot of money!I highly recommended it. ... Reissued with a new look, this book offers the complete reference guide to what doctors know about heart disease and how to prevent it.Amazon.com Review
Dr. Kwiterovich has seen things that are painful to even readabout, things like young adults with orange protrusions the size ofbaseballs growing on their elbows because of super-high cholesterollevels. But from such experiences at the extremes, he has come tounderstand heart disease as few others do. The Johns HopkinsComplete Guide is indispensable for people who are at risk ofearly heart attack: people with high cholesterol levels, a familyhistory of early deaths from heart disease, sedentary lives, and/orbad health habits such as smoking. Even if you have no reason to thinkyou're in that club, you may find the chapters on diet and nutritionfascinating, especially with all the mythology circulating about themagic of fish oils (he's for eating fish, against fish-oilsupplements). But if you do have heart-disease risk factors, you'llfind crucial information here: not only thorough explanations of theconnection between cholesterol and heart attacks, but also acholesterol-lowering diet with recipes. --Lou Schuler ... Product Description

Heart disease is the leading cause of death among women, killing six times as many as breast cancer. What's worse, too few women realize the dire risk they face.

WomenHeart, the National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease, is an organization dedicated to helping women heart patients and those at risk for heart disease, whether they know it or not. Through an extensive support group network, they also help women who have heart disease live normal lives. And because dietary changes are often an important part of the recovery process, when their members gather, the conversation naturally turns to food.

To help spread the news of their work, WomenHeart has created this one-of-a-kind collection that focuses on 40 key foods known to promote heart health that features a number of family-friendly recipes from their members.

Packed with plenty of great-to-wake-up-to dishes like French Toast with Orange Cream and Lemon Blueberry Muffins, it also includes dozens of crowd-pleasing dinner favorites like Revamped Chicken Pot-pie, Beef and Vegetable Stroganoff, and Sesame Salmon with Spicy Cucumber Salad. In fact, in this collection there's a recipe for every occasion, as well as 40 enticing photographs.

2-0 out of 5 stars high fat meals for heart care?
I really wanted to like this book. It has an attractive lay-out and the opening chapter is informative and well written.
The recipes sound good, too.But I was surprised at how many of them were very high in fat and fat calories. Many ranged from 30% to 40% of calories from fat.I have heard guidelines for heart health that suggest keeping fat below 30% of calories, and the Dean Ornish diet requires that only 10% of calories come from fat.My own cardiologist recommends that everyone, with or without heart disease, try for 20% or fewer calories from fat.
A dinner of Fruited Rice Pilaf with Chicken Ragout would result in 23 grams of fat.If on the same day,I ate the Oatmeal Pudding (11 gms fat) for breakfast and enjoyed the Broccoli Rabe soup for lunch, (12 gms fat),I would have consumed 46 gms of fat, not counting any desserts or snacks.I realize that the recipes are emphasizing the good fats while avoiding Sat and Trans fats, but still, this is a liberal helping of ANY fats in one recipe or one day. While I will try some of the recipes,as usual, I will have to modify them to reduce the fat grams for a healthy heart diet.
I was also surprised, that in the section called "Types of Heart Disease"there was no mention of many types of heart diseases, such as valve problems, pericarditis, enlarged heart, etc.As such, the discussion of different heart problems seemed limited.
I liked the information on specific foods and I think, with a revision of many of the recipes in a future edition, this book could be much improved.

4-0 out of 5 stars Trying to understand and lower cholesterol
I recently was told by my doctor that I need to lower my total cholesterol. This came as a bit of a surprise as I didn't know I had a problem and I am still fairly young.I bought this though and the information and recipes are wonderful.I find that I enjoy looking through, finding recipes that I like and using the ingredients I enjoy that are good for me that she tells you all about in the beginning of the book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Heart Healthy Cookbook!
This is one of the most educational heart healthy cookbooks I have in my collection.I love the way it talks about all the specific heart healthy food in the beginning and then incorporates them into delicious recipies. Well done ladies!

5-0 out of 5 stars McDougall is my hero
McDougall is compelling and bold in his presentation of a radical protocol for heart health. He is absolutely correct and proves it by his results. It takes this radical approach to reverse the damage done by the typical American diet. The whole dietetic fraternity (or educational approach) approach to heart health diet is scandulously flawed from beginning to end and has permitted a rapidly detereorating condition in the health of America. Sad. But McDougall has the answer and hopefully his program will take hold more and more in the circles of influence that can make the greatest difference.

4-0 out of 5 stars Making a Difference In My Life
I discovered John McDougall through a friend who explained the program to me.Right then and there I decided I needed to know more. So, I went to my first source for information ~ Amazon.com.When I discovered there was a McDougall for the Heart, I knew I was on the right track.I bought a used copy. Then, I couldn't wait for it to arrive. As soon as it came, I read it cover to cover, started fixing recipes and was amazed at how good eating right could really be.I committed to being vegan. The McDougall plan is easy to understand. One potatoe, two potatoe, three potatoe, four.It is starch based.Eat a starch as the basis for meal planning, add fruits and veggies, and you are good to go.I've lost 13 pounds in four weeks, feel great, and I am a heart patient.I am back to exercising when I had given up due to PAD and neuropathy.I am more like myself than ever. This is a decent book, easy read, and comes highly recommended.I was afraid I was going to have to kill the keys in order to be able to type something ever again.Al Milliren

5-0 out of 5 stars Reverse and Prevent Heart Disease. Stop the Pain.
What's the number one killer in America? AIDS? Diabetes? Cancer? America's big killer is heart disease. In the United States, over 1.25 million heart attacks occur each year. To make matters worse many of those who suffer such attacks die before they reach a hospital. According to McDougall, "The cause of the most common form of heart disease is blockage of the arteries that supply the heart muscle. The blockages, results of the condition known as atherosclerosis, are caused by plaques forming along the internal walls of the arteries. Eating rich foods loaded with cholesterol and fats leads to the formation of these plaques. Heredity is also a factor, but should not be over emphasized because at least half the American population is susceptible. Besides, you can do nothing about changing your heredity."

But there is a lot you can change--and McDougall shows you what and how.

He answers all your questions, and most importantly, he backs up his statements with a stack of references to the medical literature. And unlike angioplasty and bypass surgery which are temporary, short-term relief measures (at best), McDougall provides long-terms solutions that remove the cause allowing your body to reverse blockages, and for those without blockages--how to prevent them. His primary emphasis is on a zero cholesterol, very low fat, plant based diet.

The book is fairly complete, includes answers to all your frequently asked questions, includes an abundance of tasty recipes, and explains many things your doctor hasn't told you (in most cases because he does not know). As a former professor in Internal Medicine at Univ. Hawaii Medical School Dr. McDougall does.

If Americans followed the advice in this book there would be little or no heart disease in this country. Best of all if you follow McDougall's advice and follow his dietary advice you will find that the "drugs that were intended to reduce chest pain should be decreased gradually in dosage and then discontinued entirely as soon as possible." This of course should ONLY be done under the supervision of a doctor.

I would buy three copies of this book. One for yourself, one for your loved one, and one for your doctor.

What your doctor does not know may kill you--and many cardiologists sadly are ignorant of the information provided in this book--though thanks in part to the efforts of doctors like McDougall, Ornish, Fuhrman ..., and others, many of them are learning. ... Read more

Product Description
All about the Mediterranean Diet, from guiding principles to specific recipes, for people who want to improve their health by improving their eating habits. Most people know that a Mediterranean-style diet is "good for them," but many lack the information that determines the diet's success. The Mediterranean Heart Diet does what most doctors who recommend the diet don't: spells out which foods are "out" and which are "in," and why.

Doctors recommend a Mediterranean eating style to thousands who are diagnosed each year with heart disease because it is "heart-healthy"-it promotes lower saturated-fat consumption, and helps lower cholesterol and blood pressure levels.

It is an all-purpose style of eating that also benefits those at risk of developing certain cancers and those with a diabetic condition, because it is high in antioxidant-rich foods and whole grains. The Mediterranean Heart Diet not only provides a full range of satisfying recipes but also covers the science behind the diet's health benefits. Readers learn to create their own healthful eating plans and establish new habits.

More than 140 delicious recipes are included, from satisfying Lentil and Broccoli Soup to tangy Halibut in Citrus Sauce. All recipes feature nutritional analysis by serving, including food exchanges. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Meditteranean Diet Book
This book talks about why the Mediterranean people have lower rates of inflammatory diseases. I am a Registered Dietitian and I found the research intriguing. The recipes I have tried have been somewhat bland. Good short read, about half the book is recipes. I would not really consider this a fad diet since it is a based on observation of a healthy population's diet. Does not really have meal plans just recipes which makes me happy as a dietitian that this book is not promising quick or easy weight loss. This book focuses on how this diet may help prevent some diseases over the long-term.

I eat mostly vegetarian, not for any particular reason,

5-0 out of 5 stars This is THE book to buy on heart disease
If you have high blood pressure or just want to stay alive, buy this book. This is by far the most informative book on the market about heart health.

I bought this book after my dad had a stroke and it helped me to understand why strokes happen and how to prevent them.Everything about heart health is covered. The book includes scientific studies about which supplements to take and which to avoid.

Included is info on oral chelation.Chelation will help to strip the plaque from your arteries. This can be done with a special diet and supplements.

Heart disease is the number one killer in America. You can drop your blood pressure with Co Q 10 and grape seed extract (Tru OPC's).This is all in the book.

Do you take drugs for your high blood pressure? You are increasing your risk for cancer if they are calcium channel blockers!Read the book for the research study info.

In chapter after chapter you learn of ways tocontrol, or even reverse, the progression of the disease. The chapter ofVitamins tells of the vital role of antioxidants, a role that is only nowbeing confirmed and used by the established medical community. The chapteronIV EDTA Chelation therapy will astound you with it's implications. Ihave read it from cover to cover and find it totally fascinating. Product Description
Almost one million Americans die each year from cardiovascular related illnesses. This number accounts for 41 per cent of all deaths in the US each year. In fact, cardiovascular disease claims as many lives as the next eight leading causes of death combined, including cancer, accidents and AIDS. And, despite an aggressive campaign launched by the American Heart Association to counter the epidemic of heart disease, one person dies from it every 33 seconds. For nearly four decades, we have relied on medical myths to guide us in our attempts to prevent and treat cardiovascular disease. We have been told to reduce our cholesterol, saturated fat intake, and to take lipid-lowering medications. This book examines these myths and gives readers the facts to make better choices and live longer lives free of heart disease. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A must read book for everyone
These are things your Doctor will never tell you about the meds they prescribe to you.I know for a fact that some of the side effects mentioned in the book are true because I got them from blood pressure meds.My husband is on the same meds as I am and did not have the same side effects as I did.A must read for everyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Helpful, instructive, raises many good questions
Heart Disease: What Your Doctor Won't Tell You provides clear explanations and much food for thought about commonly prescribed meds and risky procedures.Offers advice on nutrition and supplements.Overall, a well-organized, interesting and easy read.Plenty of references.I now understand more about heart disease and have a list of ideas/questions to discuss with my cardiologist.

For the next edition, this book could use another review for typos -- the kind that spell-checkers do not catch.A very minor occasional distraction from an otherwise outstanding book.

Currently, if you click the link to search inside this book, what appears is author's book re Fibromyalgia rather than Heart Disease. So, I'll just quote from the back cover:"Don't even think about starting statin drugs, implementing a low-fat diet, or choosing heart surgery until you've read this book."

5-0 out of 5 stars Life Saving Information
The information in this book is LIFE SAVING!!!The Perfect Gene Diet addresses not only dietary intervention but also integrative measures such as stress management, exercise and relaxation techniques.I have decided to LIVE this lifestyel to not only benefit me, but also my husband and future family.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nutrition Inspiration
This is definitely NOT a fad diet. This book emphasizes lifestyle change (nutrition, exercise, diet, stress) and scientifically backs up why these changes are necessary and beneficial. It's a great, easy read. The information is so skillfully laid out, all that is left to do is for the reader to be ready to make some changes. If you have any chronic disease that has affected either you or someone else in your family, you have the power to change your health outcome.

5-0 out of 5 stars This really makes since
I love this book, it is not about a fade diet, it teaches you to eat healthy for life time, this make since to me how each person needs a different diet depending on your gene type.

5-0 out of 5 stars Key Lifestyle Changes = Health & Wellness For Life
Inspired to read the APO E Gene Diet book based on its mind/body/spirit approach and knowing my own genes (My father had Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease. My mom had cancer and currently has heart disease and many other ailments), I had already adopted an organic, healthy way of eating several years ago.The Perfect Gene Diet is an updated version with a moving foreword by Dr. Wayne Dyer.

This book/program has helped me to take my health to a new level. I did have my APO E gene tested and learned how to individualize my diet to prevent the chronic diseases my parents experience(d). Diet is only one part of the book; exercise is also another key aspect along with the mind/body/spirit connection.

The book outlines the ratios of fats/proteins/carbs per gene type. It also focuses on the type of fats & proteins each gene type should consume based on the gene type's ability to clear them.

I have the pleasure of being a patient of Pam McDonald, FNP, and am blessed my path led me to her. Meeting her has helped me increase my own physical health, and her guidance on the mind/body/spirit connection has brought a new level of peace in my life.Integrative medicine is what our future is all about.

The book addresses a customized lifestyle plan for each gene type desperately needed in our fast-food, convenience driven, and couch potato culture. Read the book, find out your APO E gene type and make these lifestyle changes so you, too, can live a long, healthy life!

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing book
Must read, so crazy (or not so crazy) that different people process food differently and eating the wrong diet for your gene type can affect your health! ... Read more

I ordered my book May 26 and it's now June 26 and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. This is ridiculous!

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this book already!
And I haven't even made anything out of it yet.
It has a wealth of recipes and valuable information in it.
One thing we enjoy is Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, and there is a recipe for it in there. And it shows that 1/4 of a teaspoon of salt ads only 48 mg of sodium. (Page 14)
I'm on a 2000 mg sodium restriction. I shoot for half of that. So seeing up front what my numbers will be is important to me.
As I browse this book, I find a wealth of taste tempting dishes I am sure the Family will enjoy and not even know it's actually healthy for them!
I'm certainly looking forward to fixing up some tasty dishes from American Heart Association Cookbook.
As a new heart patient, I am thankful to find this cookbook to help me enjoy the road to a healthier heart!
It's amazing the variety of tasty things I can make and enjoy knowing they will be good for me, and my loved ones.

My only wish is that it came in a ring or spiral bound hard cover edition so it would set well in my counter top cookbook easel my wife got for me.
Then... it would be perfect!

3-0 out of 5 stars just okay
We purchased this cookbook based on other reviews and the recipes we've tried have all been tasty, but if the book is available in another format (larger, with pictures, different binding, etc.) it would be significantly easier to use.

5-0 out of 5 stars Eating healthy doesn't have to be bland
This cook book is amazingly good.I'm not much of a cook so I had to buy a lot of new spices. All of the recipes I have tried so far are wonderful!I highly recommend this cookbook to anyone that loves food, but wants to eat healthy. It proves that eating healthy doesn't have to be boring and bland.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully delicious recipes and healthy to boot!
When this book arrived, I spent hours looking through it and noting recipes I wanted to try.I collect cookbooks and love to cook, but unfortunately most of my recipes are not heart (or body) healthy. That's why I am so enthralled with this one.The recipes I've tried so far are fantastic. Now I can cook to my heart's delight and for my heart's health at the same time. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best book for integrative medicine approach to heart health care.
My healthy husband had a heart attack recently and after heart cath and stent placement the cardiologists put him on 7 prescription drugs. We asked his doc if there is any natural alternative to Rx drugs for lowering cholesterol, etc and his response: "Death. Death is natural." In other words, there is no alternative to prescription drugs, you will be on them the rest of your life because you have heart disease. Thus began search for answers, which led to this book. Author Dr. Lemole was chief of cardiothoracic surgery at Christiana Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware for 20+ years, has done thousands of heart surgeries and helps rehabilitate patients with heart and other problems by using INTEGRATIVE approach. Best of both Western and Eastern medicine. This book is great at explaining complicated scientific info in lay-person terms. Very encouraging for getting off prescription meds with proper diet/nutrition, exercise and supplements. Has answers you've been looking for. Highly recommend!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Read for Everyone
This is a wonderful book and I've recommended it to all of my friends and family members. This book covers much more than just a diet. It incorporates recommendations on how to enhance your lymphatic system through specific lifestyle changes. Dr. Lemole also includes many wonderful recipes that are easy to make and are delicious. This book truly inspired me to change the way I eat and I how I choose to live my life day-to-day.

Dr. Lemole is a well-respected and very experienced cardiovascular surgeon. In his book he combines traditional views of medicine with what have typically been "non-traditional" healing therapies.
Dr. Lemole uses an easy to understand language to describe complex medical terminology and his recommendations are easy to follow. I feel that his diet and lifestyle recommendations have helped me to feel better than I have in years. Since I'm only 35, I'd like to think that living a healthy lifestyle will help me avoid some of the medical problems associated with getting older.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Healing Diet
It is truly refreshing to know that Dr. Lemole being a well respected mainstream clinician, surgeon and scientist is willing to recognize the patient as a whole person.Dr. Lemole speaks to the scientific justification for his theories on lymph system clearance, explains easy to follow healthy guidelines related to the spiritual side of the patient, provides support and recipes for his dietary recommendations.I am impressed with Dr. Lemole's willingness to address the body's need for vitamin and mineral supplementation.I have attempted to discuss vitamin, mineral and herbal supplementation with other medical doctors. The subject is met with resistance or is not well known and therefore dismissed.I encourage those individuals that want an active role in their own health and health care to evaluate Dr. Lemole's sound judgement and create a dialogue with their health care professionals. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars inflammation info
This is not the most organized presentation of inflammation although it has extensive information on the topic.
I would have liked to have seen more whole foods recommendations in a book titled "The Complete Nutritional Program..."
I'm more than a little frustrated with suggestions to take supplements rather than good quality food.
Overall, I was disappointed and would not recommend this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Life Saver!
This book has been an absolute life saver for me.At the time I found this book, I was suffering from severe arthritis in my knees, hips, tailbone, and neck. I was hurting so bad, I was seriously worried I would no longer be able to work. I had been on just about every single arthritis medication there is from pills, to injections, to infusions. Nothing helped.

I bought this book in desperation and immediately began to change my diet. It was the only thing I had not tried and that doctors had not even suggested. I eliminated processed foods, red meat, eggs, nightshades, most dairy, and all oils with the exception of olive oil, coconut oil, and real butter. I also eliminated white flour, breads, and pastas. My diet consists primarily of fresh fruit, fresh veggies, chicken, fish, turkey, nuts, brown rice, and only healthy oils. I noticed a difference in only a couple of days, and it took precisely 5 days to be completely pain free for the first time in 22 years! I absolutely cannot believe the difference. I am also a type II diabetic and my blood sugar has improved tremendously. I've lost 6 bls so far without even trying, and my chronic stomach problems have disappeared. I'm feeling so much healthier!

This way of eating has done for me what over $100,000 in meds was unable to do. I can't believe I suffered for so many years. It wasn't easy to eliminate those things at first, but I will do absolutely anything to keep the pain from returning. After being on the diet for 10 days now, I'm certain I can keep with it.I highly recommend this book to anyone who has chronic inflammatory issues that have not been relieved by traditional medicine. It worked for me, and I'm soooo greatful!

5-0 out of 5 stars Challem is a great writer

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellant book
One of the best health books I have read. I recomend it for everyone with auto imune problems, diabites, Heart disease, Asthma, Arthritis. In fact its good for any one getting older.

5-0 out of 5 stars Also the inflammation cure
I feel the same as everyone else, this book is full of excellent information and is backed by tons of research.

Perhaps not the easiest read, but if you are health-minded and want to learn the cause and cure for inflammation and related diseases, this book is excellent.

For those looking to treat arthritis and muscle and joint issues, I would like to recommend "The Permanent Pain Cure" By Ming Chew as an excellent companion book.

I used both books and tons of additional research to recover from shoulder surgery well ahead of time and also relieve a two year old knee injury. Additionally, I feel tons better, have resisted the flu while everyone else in my family was sick, relieved some allergy symptoms, and am a believer for life.

I highly recommend this book. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book. Very Informative.
If you do not know the amazing benefits that exercise brings, then I highly recommend that you get this book. Research backed information by two doctors on the benefits of both aerobics and weight training. Good reference!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not Bad.....BUT.........
This book was OK but I have a few complaints that really bothered me. First, it's written in almost too easy to read language (5th grade-ish). Second, some of the illustrations are laughable (lifting soupcans). Third, the references to training programs that coincide with cars (SUV training, Truck training...). Fourth, too many stories about Joe So-and-so (who did this and that) to illustrate points.

From chapter 3 up until the chapter titled, "Your Exercise Prescription" I was pleased, but the points I mentioned leave a somewhat bad taste in my mouth.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Healing Power of Dr. Linn Goldbeg: Why i am so moved.
Once in a great while a book so powerful comes along that it moves our lives in a new direction and reinvigerates us towards action. Dr. Goldberg's book is just such an example. With fluid use of language andstunning insights into what we can do better as humans, along with usefullydisplayed examples with true models, Golberg shows us how to conquer theobstacles that have become the bain of 21st century American existence:disease riddled lives due to the inactivity and complacency that surroundsmodern humanity. This monument of a work clearly puts Goldberg in the smallgroup of modern American doctors such as Dr. Ruth, C. Everett Koop, and Dr.Dolittle that have had such a surprisingly significant impact on everydaylife while coming at their topic from the field of medicine. I praise thisgiant piece of work and the equally large man and his effort that wentforth towards its' creation. God Bless Linn Goldberg. Cheers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Insighful and Extremely Helpful!
Not only does this guide give extremely helpful ways and tips to improve your health significantly, but the author's use of prose is remarkable and captivates the reader. Furthurmore, the exercise models and pictures are well placed and are invaluable to this mastery of literature. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
This is a fantastic book written in a very informative manner. The recipes are good too. What I thought was most interesting is how the author explains how heart disease develops... the typical American diet startsbuilding plaque on the artery walls as early as the teen years! You will besurprised when you read this book and then you will understand why heartdisease is such a big problem in America. The diet in this book is the bestdiet I have come accross, not being able to easily loose weight myself. Butthis diet does it without hunger. I can't say enough about this advice. I no longer feel likeI am a ticking time bomb that will eventually need a coronary bypassoperation ... an operation that has become very routine in America.

1-0 out of 5 stars This Book is a Joke
I purchased this book looking for a great reference on high fiber foods. What a mistake. This is basically a diet book which consists of a diet that you barely eat on and then some information on excersise and what vitamins to take.

No where were there any listing on fiber content even in the recipes which were really just low calorie. There is barely a mention throughout the entire book about the benefits of fiber.
