This is the single most important element for positive audience response," continues Pirkl. "The local activity takes the national perspective and brings it to a local level. Together they help meet more individual needs." A local "wraparound" activity for an ALS-distributed videoconference can be a dynamic way to involve participants, encourge thought-provoking discussion, and provide hosts with feedback about the program. ALS provides each licensed site with "Ideas for Local Activities" on how to engage in program-specific local activities. Ideas can range from local panel discussions to social events to brainstorming sessions. Here's what some of you have done with "wraparounds."
