The club is affiliated with the Associated Students and is a member of the campus Inter Club Council (ICC). The City College Press Club serves as a resource for journalism students by providing them opportunities to participate in club sponsored media career days, guest lectures by media professionals, field trips to journalism conferences, and social events. Latest News Ann Devroy Forum On Thursday, April 24, 2003 the annual Ann Devroy Forum will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Hibbard Hall 100. This year's guest speaker is author and former Washington Post reporter Mr. Lou Cannon The Forum is a memorial to Ann Devroy, 1970 journalism graduate of UW-Eau Claire, who went on to become the top White House reporter for The Washington Post. After her untimely death in 1997, at the age of 49, Devroys family, friends and Post colleagues decided to honor her with scholarship at her alma mater. The Forum awards a scholarship to a student who shows exceptional promise and ability as a journalist, who has made outstanding contributions to the universitys student newspaper, and who demonstrates financial need. In addition to the scholarship, the Devroy Fellow spends three weeks in residency at The Washington Post and a paid internship at a Wisconsin newspaper.
