To its north is Jinan, the provincial capital, and to the south is Qufu, the birthplace of Confucius, the great ancient thinker, educator and philosopher. To the east is Zibo, famous for it's porcelain, and to the west is the Yellow River. Mount Tai has been recognized as the greatest of the five sacred mountains of China. In 1987, it was placed on the World Natural and Cultural Heritage List by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). It has become a symbol of our nation. This area is an important birthplace of the ancient civilization of the Chinese nation. ¡¡¡¡SDAU was founded in 1906 as Shandong Agricultural and Forestry School of Higher Learning. In 1952, as a result of a national reorganization of colleges, its name was changed to Shandong Agricultural College. The college was moved from Jinan to Taian in 1958. In 1983, it became Shandong Agricultural University. In July 1999, with the permission of the Shandong provincial government, a new Shandong Agricultural University came into being through a merger with Shandong Hydraulic College and Shandong Forestry School. The university has since developed into a multi-disciplined agricultural university with agriculture, forestry and hydraulics, as it's primary focus. Other fields represented here include science, engineering, administration, economics, linguistics, humanities and law.

Extractions: Kim Tchah-sup's Thirty-Five Years of Ar t By Kim Heh-kyong, curator, Marronnier Art Center, Korean Culture and Arts Foundation Each year, the Korean Culture and Arts Foundation presents a project around an overlooked yet deserving mid-career or master artist who has made his or her mark on Korean contemporary art. This criterion is particularly applicable to Kim Tchah-sup, whose name is lesser known than others of his generation but whose work is perhaps more important in the context of art history and aesthetics. Kim created his oeuvre in America for fifteen years, beginning in 1974, without bothering with Korean art tendencies. From the very beginning of his career, he was indifferent to the politics of the Korean art world and the fashionable art currents that came and went. Moreover, compared to other Korean artists of the period, he was interested in life's big picture. He was also, before being an artist, more preoccupied with his identity as an individual among the Korean people, and more interested in the struggle for power among the powerful countries throughout the history of civilization than in the political struggles inside the art world of Korea, a small place located on the outskirts of the outskirts of real art.
