However, if we take a closer look at the cultural inheritance of a people, we notice remarkable things. For example, some cultures that live absolutely separately from each other have legends that describe one and the same thing or event. Such legends surely have certain differences, but they are basically the same. Scientist Vladimir Shemchuk has studied the curious peculiarities of folklore and compared them to certain facts from the history of our planet. Shemchuk got the following picture of life on planet Earth over thousands of years. The Bible contains a legend that there used to be a Golden Age on the planet. Then, it was replaced by the Silver Age, then there was the Bronze Age, and it was all over with the Iron Age. The legends of American Indians and of the African and Australian tribes say that planet Earth was first inhabited by demigods: the Assures (Titans). Then, there were the Atlants. The Atlants were smaller than the Titans; they soon died, and they were replaced by the civilization of giants. We are used to judging ancient civilizations as badly developed and primitive. Yet, some findings in mines prove that the people of ancient civilizations could mine coal. They even had electricity and manufactured plastic items. All ancient written sources of information mention giants. Most likely, those abundant written legends about giants give certain reasons to believe that giants actually lived on our planet thousands of years ago. This theory explains why ancient constructions and buildings were so huge. It was not simply because of the wish to show their power. They were needed for giant people.

T oday the Dravidians are living in South India and we always say if they were the builders of the Indus Civilization and if they migrated from here because of some reason or the other, then something of that civilization they should carry into the south except just the language. It is there is Gujarat, it is there in Malabar, but not in the area where Dravidian is spoken today. Not a single evidence has been found. R ecently when Asko Parpola came about three months ago to Pakistan, he said no Professor, what about Gujarat? Certainly in Gujarat we have got the Indus Civilization, right about to the mouth of the Narmada, right up to the mouth of the Tanti we have got this civilization. There is one more place on the Narmada we have got the Indus civilization, but not south of it. He said that this shows that people have been there. I said even then I will not agree.

The United States is furious that Iraq may have a nuclear /biological /chemical weapons program, when the truth is that the United States has the largest by far of any nuclear /chemical weapons program and capability, and there is a strong possibility that we have a secret biological weapons program, as well. Iraq is under the leadership of a very intelligent dictator who not only survived a global effort to overthrow him by military force, but is a world-class player in the political scheming arena and if you ask me, heÕll survive this latest chest beating by the United States. In that regard, Saddam Hussein cannot be bested or removed from power, and he wins the chess match of global politics and the intrigue within his own fold.

"Who would have thought that now, at the beginning of the third millennium AD, we'd be discovering a new ancient civilization," said Fred Hiebert, an archaeologist at the University of Pennsylvania Museum in Philadelphia. He has excavated in the region nearly every year since 1988, shortly before the Soviet Union fell. Some researchers consider writing to be a criterion for any true civilization, and now Hiebert said he thinks he may have evidence for meeting that, too a tiny stamp seal carrying four letter-like symbols in an unidentified language. He has dated it to 2300 BC.
