One example is a web site that was put up to sell bumper stickers that say "support our troops." There was no support for the troops or their families in the $4.00 charge for a bumper sticker. The Department of Defense is urging the public not to send mail or care packages to troops overseas unless they are family members, friends or loved ones. Instead, the Pentagon is urging the public to log on to the following web sites to send virtual thank-you cards and calling-card donations to help troops stay in contact with their loved ones:
