Installation Tips Microsoft Enterprise Agreement The purpose of the Maryland Educational Enterprise Consortium is to establish a systemwide standard for computer software used for word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentations in schools and offices. Designation of a specific software package for these purposes will ensure compatibility of work done at various sites, improve efficiency among offices and schools, and facilitate timely support, ease of training, and economy through bulk purchasing. Purchases will be made through an educational licensing partnership between the Division of Information Technology Services and the University of Maryland. Prince George's County Public Schools The complexity of installing the multiple titles in the agreement on nearly 10,000 computers is an overwhelming task. As a result, each Building Administrator will designate a current staff member in the building as its EL (Enterprise Liaison), who will coordinate the installation of the software on the computers used there and those owned by its staff members. Typically in high school or middle school this would be the Technology Coordinator in the building. In elementary schools this task might be given to the Media Specialist or a Lab Manager. The Regional Technology Coordinators and staff members of the can be made available for additional help with installation at locations such as the elementary schools where there may not be a Technology Coordinator.

Leadership: The Character Education Imperative Mary C. Aranha, Director Character education, Division of Instructionand staff Development, maryland State Department of education. http://www.nprinc.com/catalog/char-ed/char-dev/ldrship.htm
Extractions: Director Character Education, Division of Instruction and Staff Development, Maryland State Department of Education Given rising incidence of discipline problems and declining parental involvement in the moral development of their children, schools and agencies are faced with increased need for leadership that incorporates character education as an essential component of their programs. Additionally the aftermath of violence in the schools has resulted in a nation refocused on the role of leadership in the development of a school climate that is safe: one based on core virtues that promote individual character development. No longer can effective leadership be defined solely in terms of competence, organizational structure and management skills. Rather it must include a commitment to the demonstration of sound character by all members of the learning community, creating an environment built on virtues like mutual respect and responsibility.
