With this lesson plan you can show your students what a High Pressure area looks like and the type of circulation associated with the High. Orographic Lifting Lesson Plan . You and I have read about the rising air on the windward side of a mountain range forming stationary storms and thunderstorms. This series of images shows the formation of storms over the Siera Madre of Mexico. Severe Storms Lesson Plan When studying the formation of thunder storms and tornadoes, one of the first things that you look for on a satellite image is the V shaped clouds that indicate severe storms. This sereis of images show the formation of storms that caused major damage during the 1994 storm season.

Extractions: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign The Education and Social Science Library has many materials containing lesson plans, primarily in the form of curriculum guides, in both print and microfiche formats. According to the Facts on File Dictionary of Education , a curriculum guide differs from a lesson plan , in that it includes "one or more aspects of curriculum and instruction, such as philosophy, policies, aims, objectives, subject matter, resources and processes" (p.138), while a lesson plan "includes the instructional objectives and methods for a particular functional unit or period of instruction" (p.271). Many lesson plans are embedded within the curriculum guides. The following is an explanation of several ways to locate lesson plans and other teaching materials on a particular topic in the Education and Social Sciences Library.
