Periodically reset for statistical purposes. I was assigned to Airship Squadron 3 at Lakehurst, New Jersey from Feb. 1954 to Nov. 1956. Blimp experiences described are from my memory. Blimp photos and blimp facilities are from my blimp scrap book. Blimp nomenclature and blimp slang are not used in stories. All blimp statistics are from memory or are documented in official navy blimp manuals, or newspapers and magazines reporting on actual blimp and antisubmarine warfare events. No specific blimp is identified; however, the airship I flew in most frequently was numbered Navy Airship 716. Other blimps I flew in were 717 and 446.Each blimp had a crew of 18 men. Each blimp was maintined by the flight crew assigned to that particular blimp.
