ASD Regional Teams ASD Standing Committee Education and Training Parent Resources The Nebraska Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Network consists of a partnership between the Nebraska Department of Education, Office of Special Populations (NDE), the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Barkley Center (UNL), and five ASD Regions. The ASD Network is supported by IDEA Part B Set Aside Funds from NDE. NDE is responsible for maintaining the statewide network. Five ASD regions have been established throughout the State, each of which has a Regional Director and Coordinator who work hand-in-hand with NDE and UNL. A statewide ASD Standing Committee has been established to provide advice and recommendations to the ASD network on delivery of appropriate services for children with ASD, training of educators, parents and the community and teaching competencies. The Standing Committee is comprised of at least three individuals from each ASD Region in the State, including at least one parent, service provider and administrator from each Region.
