That research resulted in some important findings that are relevant to today’s educational discussion. New Hampshire's oft-touted high SAT scores are based on comparison to a group of 23 states, not all 49 states. State average scores include both private and public schools students. When comparing results among public school students only, New Hampshire is still among the states that have scores above average.
