Extractions: The Northeast Nancy Vigezzi School Analyses (the competition) Suggested Curriculum (the competitive applicant) To the outside world, the job of a librarian seems simple enough. Putting books away and answering questions seems to be all that is required. But one needs only to read all of the qualifications in a librarian job advertisement to see that this profession is much more involved. The profession of librarian today requires a much more technical base than ever before. After collecting and reading job ads from 7 states (New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts), I realized that there are many, many types of positions that librarians can hold. The ads were collected over a period of 8 weeks and divided into 5 categories: Academic, Public, School, Special and Non-library. They were then charted with the degree required, experience needed, skills, salary and any additional pertinent information. There were many similarities in the job descriptions within a job category. Most of the job listings had the following similar requirements regardless of job title, type of library or location:

Feel free to inquire about workshops based on your own needs and my areas of expertise. RECOMMENDATIONS "I want to take a minute to recommend a fabulous conference presenter whom I have been fortunate enough to have at our NHLA/NHEMA joint conference each of the past three years. . . .Toni has always been extremely prepared; her handouts are so valuable that they are always scooped right up with extras spoken for as well. Toni gauges her time well and always covers her whole presentation in the time allotted. She varies her format to keep her audience interested and all of her evaluations, over the three years we have had her, have been excellent!" ~ Linda D. Sherouse, M.Ed, M.L.I.S., New Hampshire Educatinal Media Association. "It was delightful to work with Toni. She was consistently professional, timely and personable in our correspondence. She was thoroughly prepared for her presentation. According to our post-conference evaluations, participants found her workshop enlightening and enjoyable. Many remarked on her enthusiastic delivery style. They felt both her talk and her handouts provided them valuable, concrete, information." ~ Linda Crotta Brennan, Conference Chair, Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators New England.

Comprehensive Emergency Management Planning For Schools management planning at the graduate level to school administrators through the CEMPShas received media attention from new hampshire and national http://www.nhoem.state.nh.us/Training/cemps.htm
Extractions: Comprehensive Emergency Management Planning for Schools CEMPS Comprehensive Emergency Management Planning for Schools (CEMPS) is a program offered to New Hampshire school districts aimed at providing emergency planning to protect school children and adult personnel during natural and manmade disasters. Providing protection for schools has received a great deal of attention from the news media and public officials at all levels in recent years because of a number of high visibility incidents of school violence. CEMPS was actually started well before those events occurred and it is designed to provide an all-hazards emergency plan that would be put in operation no matter what the emergency. CEMPS is a process that assists in the development of workable, user-friendly emergency management plans for schools. A school district's plan is developed by its own personnel in cooperation with local first responders and the N.H. Office of Emergency Management. That is, the plan is developed by the people who will carry it out when the need arises. The basic principles of CEMPS are: q During an emergency, school personnel become emergency responders.
