For British English speakers only
Be forewarned, The phonetic spelling pronunciations written throughout the book are assuming that you speak with a British accent in order for you to be pronouncing the Norwegian word correctly.This doesn't affect too many words, but you may pick up some incorrect pronunciation if you're not careful. The accompanying audio CD (I bought mine in a local bookstore and it came with a CD) can help with this.
Otherwise it's a fine book for travel.It has a very limited dictionary, as expected for it's size.The Menu Reader section has foods listed alphabetically in Norwegian, thus it can be time consuming to find the word for a food you would like to say in Norwegian - although they are broken up into some categories. ... Norwegian Language
The tape is not the greatest if you are just starting from scratch, but it is helpfull. It doesnt help you that much with the structure and set up of the Norwegian Language, it simply repeats phrases over and over. However, I am still using it and I find it help full. The Phrase book also has usefull information.
