Randall Coffman - Science Teacher, Nicoma Park Jr. High, Oklahoma City, OK Randall Coffman teaches eighth and ninth grade science at Nicoma Park Junior High in Nicoma Park, OK. A graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Mr. Coffman began teaching in 1989 in Hobart, OK. In 1994, he attended an institute at the University of Oklahoma to learn to use Mesonet data in the classroom. Since that time, he has incorporated Mesonet data into his daily classroom activities, including weather forecasting and graphing current conditions. Mr. Coffman attended the 3rd International Conference on School and Popular Meteorological and Oceanographic Education in Edinburgh, Scotland, where he presented a paper on tracking cold fronts through Oklahoma. In 1996, Randall Coffman was named Choctaw/Nicoma Park District Teacher of the Year. He attributes his continued excitement for teaching to being able to use Mesonet data and the computer bulletin board system in the classroom.
