PCC Early Childhood Education- Program Description The AAS degree qualifies a student to become a head teacher in an oregon state licensedchild care facility. The National Association for education of Young http://spot.pcc.edu/hfs/ece/program.htm

The Level II Certificate meets the minimum requirements for Oregon licensed child care teachers. The National Association for Education of Young Childrens (NAEYCs) minimum suggested training level for teachers of young children is an AAS degree. Students must earn a grade of C or higher in every required ECE class in order to receive a certificate or degree. Students must also meet practicum competencies at each level. PCCs ECE articulation agreement with Portland State University allows for up to 80 transfer credits toward PSUs Child and Family Studies degree when students are accepted into their program.

In our case the pact is to promote excellence and relevance in education to develop a better prepared workforce for the future, and the parties to the covenant are the business and education communities of Linn and Benton counties. The Linn-Benton Business Education Compact is a non-profit 501c(3) corporation. Where did it originate? The Compact was modeled after an established Compact in Beaverton and is similar to other Compact organizations on the East Coast. The Linn-Benton Business Education Compact was initiated in January 1992, formally established and incorporated in September 1992, an Executive Director hired in Febuary 1993 and programs initiated across the region in March 1993.
