Extractions: Note: I will ask members of the RILINK Advisory Board to serve on the Monitoring/Evaluation Committee since they have participated in the planning and implementation of the project throughout the calendar year 1999. The Board has received regular reports from the Director since July, and has assisted in making many decisions. Its report will be made available April 26, 2000. Director's Evaluation. Objectives: Add up to eight additional school library electronic catalogs. However, only four school libraries were able to send their data to Follett by the fall. The remaining eight are merging their data in January 2000. Software purchased for the four schools were WebCollectionPlus, BookWhere 2000, and the 856Express on the school sites. The original plan was to put the 856 tags on the union catalog, not on the individual sites. Changes were made in the Follett proposal, resulting in a saving which allowed two additional schools to become RILINK members. There were no funds provided to merge and dedupe the twelve schools in 1999. Negotiations with Follett in November resulted in an agreement to host all 14 schools in 2000 for $18,000. This amount covers the hosting costs, merging and deduping the records, all renewals of software, and the 856Express tags on the union catalog. The vendor absorbed the hosting costs for the four schools added in the fall of 1999.
