Teacher Strategies -- Class Projects Throughout the teacher's section, we've suggested homework or classtime activities WhileSocial studies may seem the most likely discipline for studying maps http://www.bigchalk.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/WOPortal.woa/wa/BCPageDA/gen~CASKE~TS
Extractions: There are a number of projects your class can undertake as a group, whether yours is a multidisciplinary elementary class, a middle school Environmental Science class or a high school Global Studies class (among others). These class projects provide a way to integrate your class's subject area with the Virtual Expedition materials and activities, along with excellent opportunities for collaborative learning. Create a glossary of all the terms your class learns while using the Virtual Expedition activities and materials. Provide a bulletin board and have students post strips of paper with words and definitions; students can post words as they learn them. As new words are added, remind students to adjust the order of the paper strips to keep the glossary in alphabetical order.

All of our fourth grade classes are part of the eMINTS program. This special state program provides technology support for learning. We love being able to use a Smartboard, a computer for every two students, a digital camera, an LCD projecter, a scanner, a color printer, and Internet access for all computers. We have just started so we are still learning. There are many exciting projects planned for us! There are suggested links within these pages which should be appropriate for our students. However with the nature of the Internet things may change. Please be aware of what your child is doing on the Internet. We suggest that they not move more than two clicks away from any link we have given. To the best of our knowledge these are safe.

Once you have had a chance to analyze all of the alien crosses and feel comfortable with the data, you may be asked to help on some problems still unanswered. However, you must first prove you understand several different types of crosses. Below you will find your orders. Please pay attention to them. I will check your notebook complete with notes and data when you return. I wish you luck, and say 'HI' to Mulder and Scully for me. But tell them to stay out of trouble. Sincerely
