Hartford Swing Jam offers a DJ dance at the Wethersfield American Legion Hall in Wethersfield on the last Saturday of the month. Friday, April 4: "Because of extremely bad weather today and tonight in the Albany area (where the band is travelling from) and impending sleet and freezing rain later today / tonight in CT, the WHTH Swing dance tonight is cancelled." The swing dance starts with a beginner East Coast Swing lesson from 7:30 to 8:30 pm followed by dancing until 11:30 pm. Swing jams offer a beginner lesson at 7:00 pm and dancing from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Dance partners are not necessary and beginners are always welcome. All dances are alcohol- and smoke-free. Membership is not required but does provide discounts to all HCD dances. Annual cost is $10 per year (Sept.-Sept.) and $7 partial (Jan.-Sept.). Dance workshops and lessons are offered and promoted by Swing DanceWorks with Jitterbug Jane at the American Legion Post in Wethersfield.
