A very extensive encyclopedia on sexual disorders that categorizes and explains them all in amazing detail and with attention. Every disorder has causes, symptoms and treatment , all discussed on ample pages by specialists. Overall a very unique and informative book
I read this book with some anxiety being a college junior and not a psychologist or psychiatrist.I learned of it from my dad, a philosophy professor.I thought it was really superb and answered many question I had about homosexuality.For example, I am not gay and ever since the Matthew Shepard incident, I have been trying to understand why gay and lesbian people are the targets of hate crimes.It didn't seem to me that the motivation for hatred of gays is exactly the same as hatred for other minority groups."Sexual Orientation and Psychoanalysis" explains the way that the homophobia-particularly in men has its roots in childhood- particularly the last part of childhood.One point it stresses is that it often seems to be traced back to middle school years and is a special type of bullying.Going back to my own experience with schoolyard bullies when I was in 6th grade-this made a lot of sense.I also learned a lot about the different pathways for sexual development in men and women.I now understand why "homosexuality" is not just one "thing" and how different gay and lesbian people are from each other.I was surprised to learn how similar the sexuality of lesbian is to heterosexual women, and gay men- to heterosexual men (even though there are also differences of course).Not all the material discussed in this book had equal interest for me.For example, I wasn't all that interested in the last chapter which is about the way psychoanalysts have thought about homosexuality over the years, but it was enlightening to better understand why they used to think that homosexuality was a mental illness.I did read some Freud and some of my teachershated him and some admired him.At least with respect to sex-I appreciated knowing which of his theories are simply out of date.Friedman and Downey think that some of Freud's views are still helpful as well.All in all I give this book an "A" grade- and -even though it is demanding-it is worth the effort to read it.One good thing about it is that it is very clearly written and without psychobabble or jargon.

His advice works, book is well organized
I definitely recommend this book. It's well-written and organized in a fashion that is easy to read/scan. The author recommends a whole list of exercises and supplements through his "6 week program". I started taking 3g of L-Argenine daily and 80mg of Pycnogenol, as he advises in the book, and promptly saw results in both hardness and stamina! Combining this with Taoist teachings, such as those presented in Mantak Chia's "Multi-orgasmic Man", is a total powerhouse for limitless stamina and earth-shattering orgasms!

Good basic text on the subject
This was a good book from many points. Its ability to explain the background of erection is second to none. Lots of informative information here. If you want a book with all that you need to learn under one cover, this is the book for you. While most of the information can be found on the Internet for free, it's nice to have it one volume, so one doesn't have to go searching for it. The only other book I would recommend is Iron Man Penis which takes these topics to a more advanced spectrum.

Solid Book
This is an excellent book overall.There is much, much more to treating erectile dysfunction than is in this book but this book does a nice job of covering some of the basics to getting guys back on their feet again.One of the best things it does is draw a strong connection between heart disease and erectile dyfunction, which is something that many males do not consider.

It works but
You could summarize the whole book in a couple of sentences. Loose weight. Get fit. Go walking. Take pycnogenol and l-arginine. And presto. It sure worked for me. And I thought it would take years! Glad I bought the book because it motivates more than the couple of sentences I just wrote.

Good advice
This is basically a book telling you to get off the couch and get some excersize. It does it in a way that is fun and gets the point across.
Connects your overall health to your peis hardness and vs-versa.. If you are out of shape, or just want some extra encouragement to get yourself out into the workout world this is a good read. ... Read more

A great inside view of sexual problems by the female side of the planet. A great book to read for men to because it gives us the chance to find out how women think of our sexual problems. After reading it i found out that many things said by popular belief are not true, but i didn't find any cure.
