Chontel completed her Bachelor of Science degree, Master of Education degree, and Education Specialist degree at Middle Tennessee State University. In May 2002, Chontel will complete her Education Doctorate degree from Vanderbilt University. Chontel is a member of the Murfreesboro Education Association and has served as a delegate at the Tennessee Education Association Assembly and on the grievance committee. Chontel was nominated for an American Teacher Award and received a Chamber of Commerce Education Grant. She has actively worked to encourage parent involvement in the education process and has served as a guest lecturer in university classes.
