Extractions: Math Workshop is a very fun and interactive software which features seven different activities. This particular software is more of a teaching tool that introduces and reinforces math skills. In these activities students will face a wide variety of math concepts and processes such as: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, equivalencies, estimation, fractions, logic, creative problem solving, geometry, and spatial relations. Each of the seven activities provide multiple difficulty levels and are full of wonderful animation and sounds. The narrator of this software is a little girl whose name is Poly Gonzles. I like the fact that this software didn't go the stereotypical route of using a male figure. The Math Workshop pack also includes a teacher's guide which provides teachers with curriculum matrix, annotated bibliography, blackline masters, and technical tips. It also includes fifteen lesson plans, a comprehensive user's guide, and a bonus resource which provides overhead rainbow fraction tiles.
