Well done
Good for beginners, but could be better for others
Provides a solid foundations of basic skills
A good activity book for teaching fundamentals to 1-8 pupils Ihaven't seen my copy of the book in 3 years, as a co-worker I loaned it torefuses to return it. My recollection is that the chapters take the reader,or more appropriately the coach/instructor, through the steps to accomplisheach outlined task. The introduction/overview, demonstration, drills, andreview of each topic is handled quite well. I've been an accomplishedplayer for 29 years and a teaching professional for the last 21 and Ilearned some helpful drills that are very appropriate for most levels ofplayers. I use this guide as a training manual for my newest assistants.Additionally, I place copies of lessons at each court for a circuit-type,self-learning/drilling workout for many of my teenage intermediate/advancedplayer workouts. The drills are easy to follow. While I don't advocateall of the drills, I'm impressed by the layout of the learning structurecreated. I recommend this reference book for virtually all instructors. Ibelieve many learning individuals would benefit from reviewing thecontents, as they could easily follow the steps. ... Read more |

A Fine Instructional Book with Some Unique Observations
Very Good, Complete Tennis Analysis
My #1 tennis book
Best tennis book I have I have a few tennis books from Vic Braden and Brad Gilbert which are not bad but this book is by far the best. So many club players concentrate only on swinging which is why SMART system is tremendously useful to anyone serious about tennis. For instance, in the past, I never know there is such a great difference of using dominant eye versus non-dominant eye.
