Large sections of Dundee Ranch are actually part of a natural reserve. So, although we know we are not sending our teens to go on an exciting eco-vacation, such a different environment can be such a departure from their current world of the teen hang out scene of malls, partying, R-rated movies and worse-rated music etc. All this quiet and lush nature can be great grounds for deep introspection and change. The staff includes Americans and Costa Ricans. Costa Ricans enjoy one of the highest standards of living in the Americas and have a literacy rate of 92% and are a warm, caring humble and gracious people. Because of the greater value of the U.S. dollar, this program is very cost effective compared to the same type of services offered in the States.
