From the Ibo peoples of Nigeria to the Blackfoot tribes of Michigan, the world is composed of many different traditions and beliefs. Specifically, Zimbabwean culture is a very diverse, intriguing culture, with its unique music, food, and artwork. A large majority of Zimbabwe habitants belong to one of two indigenous groups: the Ndebele or the Shonas. The Ndebele are a Bantu-speaking people located in southwestern Zimbabwe. There are currently about two million Ndebele in Zimbabwe. The Shonas are primarily recognized for their sculpture, that often portrays the metamorphosis from man to beast—a believed consequence for a major religious violation. Zimbabwe culture was impacted by colonialism. With colonialism, Europeans brought with them Christianity. Today, roughly 50% of Zimbabweans attend Christian churches; however, the indigenous beliefs of Zimbabweans are still very much in tact. Zimbabweans today still uphold their traditional teachings, but have also acquired a taste for the Christian, European way of life.

Harare is one of Africa's great musical centres, attracting South African exiles and indigenous musicians performing variations on Chimurenga music, inspired by the wars of independence.
