Extractions: Throughout her life, Gigi had grown up around the show biz arena. She always felt most at home in the theatre. Whether it be peering from the wings at an immaculate ballerina, dozing in the auditorium whilst the actors attempted their twentieth dress rehearsal for the day, or teaching Marcel Marceau a few moves at the age of three. Throughout her school years Gigi endeavored to get in any production possible whether it were in or out of school. She learnt ballet, jazz and character dance for about seven years until she realized that she was better to woo the audience with her words, not her feet. Her first professional theatre debut was at the Twelfth Night Theatre in Brisbane, playing the role of Sara in Picnic at Hanging Rock. In her last year of high school she was awarded drama captain. On graduating school Gigi went for all the necessary auditions for the renowned drama schools in each state. She committed myself to a three-year course at Queensland University of Technology. In her last year at the university Gigi went for an audition for Day of the Roses, an Australian mini series. She was awarded the role of Erica Watson. Later in the year she auditioned for a two-person play with QPAT, Kill Everything You Love. It was an extremely intense drama of two school friends dealing with the suicide of one of the class mates. The play was extremely successful in a dramatic and educational context. She returned to the QUT course to showcase with her graduating year in Brisbane and Sydney.

Gigi begins talking over the clip.] GIGI EDGLEY: It was probably my fairest gig I'd had in a long time. I'd just moved to Syndey and I'd been - I did some guest roles on some Australian series and it was very, very nerve wracking. There was about, I think, seven auditions all up, including make up tests and costume fittings and optometry tests and stuff like that. And it was really, really exciting meeting these guys, and very nerve wracking my first day on set. I think I had a scene with Ben and it was in Episode 15, when he sort of comes in and tries to feed her and do all this kind of stuff. And, I'm sort of sussing him out, and looking, and it was fantastic to be on the set for the first time, cause I'd been on, for one make up fitting. And that fitting they used these blue ink contact lenses. So, pretty much, I'm meeting all the top producers, and directors, and having no idea who I'm looking at, like everything was sort of in a blue fuzz. [Clip continues. Chiana begs John to give her amnesty. Salis subdues her with the control collar.]
