Better versionsout there
This is a well known story.I was disappointed with the princess throwing the frog "against the wall as hard as she could."She then says, "There, you ugly frog. Now you'll sleep." Earlier in the story the king corrected the princess for not keeping her promise to the frog.I was expecting some consequence for the princess violently throwing the frog.Much to my suprise, her act of anger is what turned the frog back into the prince.What kind of lesson is that for kids?Very disappointing. ... A wonderful adaptation of Aesop's fable for early readers
I found the Read it! Readers series of books at our local library. The "Read-It! Readers" series of books begin with the Purple Level which presents basic topics and objects using high frequency words and simple language patterns. The Red Level books present familiar topics using common words and repeating sentence patterns. The Blue Level books present new ideas using a larger vocabulary and varied sentence structure. The Yellow Level presents more challenging ideas, a broad vocabulary, and wide variety in sentence structure.

The story and illustrations are interesting and visually pleasing respectively. The sentence structure is more varied and there are some advanced vocabulary. My 5-year-old daughter needed help with this book and we reviewed the vocabulary after reading. Overall, a good beginning reader to challenge young children with some elementary reading skills. ... An interesting tale to engage beginning readers' interest

From the picture on the product page, it appears this book is a Green Level book yet the book I checked out from our local library has the same title labeled as a Yellow Level book.
