Beach goers companion
Besides excellent diet and exercise tips, Christie gives tips to avoid beach hazards; Avoiding bug and insect bites, wearing a mosquito net to avoid getting bitten by scorpions, what to do if you are bitten, what to do if you are stung (by jelly fish)-all potential occurrences at any beach- dangers of ocean water and tides patterns to watch out for and how to swim your way out of whirlpools, if you get swept away by the oceans current, and how to take safety precautions when swimming on unfamiliar beaches. She modeled on beaches all over the world making anyone realize how modern conveniences are taken for granted. This is a perfect all around outdoor book. The tips can be helpful camping tips as well. I kept hoping she would come out with a second book.

Excellent resource for anyone wanting to live a healthy life
I bought this book in 1984, and it literally changed my life. It has practical advice that works. (beautiful photograhs and drawings) It has an upbeat straightforward style that takes the mystery out of making the most of your physical self. I highly recomend this book for anyone wanting weightloss, lifestyle change, or a healthy maintinance program. Bravo, Christie!

Christie Brinklet's Outdoor Beauty and Fitness Book
I had purchased this book about 15 years ago, but let a friend in college borrow it.She moved away - taking the book with her.Over the years, I have greatly missed it!It's really informative, easy to read, andprovides some excellent tips. It's a very motivating book where fitness isconcerned. Christie has a great writing style - practical and"down-to-earth." I highly recommend it!I'm glad to once againhave the book after 15 years -- I have no idea where the friend whoborrowed my original copy is.Marcia - you know who you are -- ha! ha!

Nothing to do with fitness
What a disappointment of a book.Four unauthorized biographies with no information about what these people do to keep in shape.
To top it off it lacks accuracy.

I'm in 8th grade and have been dancing since I was 6, lifting weights since I was 11, and interested in nutrition since I was 12. Poor Christie
This article was written and released just before the revelation that this husband was also cheating on Christie. Besides being a beautiful woman(you would never look at her and say Oh she looks 52)she is really down to earth. She wants what every woman wants. A loving family, a happy home, healthy children and someone to love her the way her dad loved her mom. My parents had a love like her parents. In fact when my mother died, so did my dad. It was 14 months later that he actually joined her, but towards the end of his life I think he spent more time in heaven with her, than he did on earth. Anyway back to Christie.My heart went out to her when soon after my magazine was delivered (I subscribe)the headlines were Christie Brinkley's cheatin' husband. She probably felt like a fool, as she gushed on in the article about how great Peter Cook was. It was genuine gushing, she was really happy with this husband, really settled, so you know she had no idea what he was up to. I don't feel one bit sorry for the poor, unsuspecting 19 year old girlfriend either.They are making her out to be a victim. C'mon, I was 19 when I married, she knew he was married, she knew who he was married to, she knew he had children and she did not care that she broke up a home.Yes she has been married 4x's,but Billy Joel also cheated on her.I think she takes her vows seriously, I guess her husbands don't. Her 3rd hubby all but sold his rights to his child so he did not have to pay back a million dollar loan when she divorced him What is wrong with these people. While I might have tried marriage counseling first, we don't if this is the first time he has done this.Her parents are ill and he figured she was distracted ,what a guy!
