5-0 out of 5 stars Captivating read
I have loved Neve Campbell ever since PO5. She is definitely one of my favorite actresses of all time. This book was really interesting. It showed me a side of Neve I had never known. I hope she continues to make greatfilms because she is talented, beautiful, and deserves recognition.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT QUALITY READING
It's amazing how much we don't know about the lifes of our favorite stars. You just assume they pop up overnight, but what actually goes in making of the star like Neve Campbell few people know. The hard work, dedication andability to take risk is absolutely unparallel, I recommend this book toeveryone who thinks, that becoming an actress is just luck and goodfortune. I think it's the only book on Neve and what a great one to have.By the way the pictures are very good. ... Read more

Product Description
This biography tells the story of the woman behind the actress and describes how the Guelph native went from being one of the National Ballet School of Canada's best young ballerinas to one of Hollywood's most popular stars. Neve Campbell recounts in detail-through interviews with her associates and Neve's own words-the circumstances that drove her to abruptly quit dance and turn her energies to acting. It goes on to explore the fierce ambition that drove her forward along each step of her near-meteoric rise, from her breakthrough part in the Canadian series Catwalk, to the move to Hollywood where she became part of the cast of the hit TV series Party of Five, and beyond to her roles in films such as The Craft, Scream, and Wild Things. Equal attention is paid to Campbell's private life, including her self-professed insecurities, her difficulty adjusting to fame, and her short-lived marriage to Canadian actor Jeff Colt, a relationship that was certainly a victim of Neve's success. But as Kathleen Tracy discovers, behind all these apparent weaknesses lies a steely will; says her ex-husband, "Neve's able to do everything, so she wants to do it all." ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars For Neve Fans
Basically, this soft-cover book is a compilation of interviews given by Neve herself, by her brother Christian, and by colleagues and casts of her various films and tv shows. Many of the interviews are available online (if you google Neve Campbell) and if you're into Neve, you may have already read some of them. However, the author has put all the pieces together nicely and it was good to read these interviews in a biographical format.

Neve has an interesting though as yet short history (she's only 34!) and there are some insights into her character and what makes her tick. There is, as another reviewer noted, a lot of information about co-stars and others, that I could have lived without. But had this information not "padded" the strictly Neve biography, the book would have been a slim volume indeed, as she is still young enough to not not have lived through a lifetime of experiences.

The book only goes to the year 2000, the end of Party of Five, and the start of "Panic" and "Drowning Mona."Since then, Neve has done quite a lot of work.Perhaps an update is in order.

The photos are good, though not great.(I would have picked different ones.)What's nice about the pictures is they are full page, not little thumbnails, and the reproduction is very good.

This is not Doris Kearns Goodwin writing about Abraham Lincoln, but overall, it's a light, interesting read if you're a Neve fan, and you'll like the book and feel it's money well spent.

4-0 out of 5 stars The wonderful Neve
This was a good book.I would say about 80 percent of the book talks about her rise in television; from simple commercials to Party of Five to the various movies she was in, up to Scream 3.The rest explains a little about her, her family, and things she has done when she was growing up.There were a few things I read about her that I would have never guessed.Overall, this book is very informative and if you read it front to back, you will learn a lot about her and understand who she really is.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great pics of beautiful Neve,OK biography
I bought this book because I've been a fan of Neve since seeing her in Wild Things. I've only skimmed through the book,I haven't read it cover tocover. The pics are fantastic.Definitely the best part of thebook.Overall,it's OK.No Booker Prize winner but I still like it better than"Great Expectations"

Product Description
The Scream film series is a series of horror films directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson and Ehren Kruger. The main plot involves a psychopathic serial killer wearing a Halloween costume attempting to kill Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and various other characters involved in her life. Each film begins with the gory murder of a couple before showing the wherabouts of Sidney. It takes off from there leading to the revelation of the killer's identity and the final battle between Sidney and the killer. They revitalized the slasher film genre in the mid 1990s, in a similar way to Halloween (1978) in the 1970s, by using a standard concept with a tongue-in-cheek approach that successfully combined straightforward scares with dialogue that satirized slasher film conventions. The first film became a major commercial success upon its release, and was one of the highest grossing films of 1996. It was also highly acclaimed by many critics worldwide, who appreciated the film's tongue-in-cheek approach. It received an 83% rating at rottentomatoes.com. The combined average of the three films' ratings is a 'fresh' 67%. ... Read more
