Wonderful.Stunning...Any fan of industrialmusic or the beauty that is Neubauten will love this book.Lots of great period photos that i've never seen before and sometruly 'inventive' discussions and interviewsconcerning the music and philosophy of Neubauten. Both in German andEnglish (although if you read German you'll get much more than out of thebookthan if you don't) A hard first time read, or by someone who's not along time fan of the band. Great candid photos from the Bad Seeds 1992 tour
Photographer Peter Milne went on the road with Nick Cave and the BadSeeds, who allowed him to take pictures of the tour.

These wonderfulblack and white shots are most candid, many catching band members unaware,or, at best, unwilling, making for some amazing images.

A great history of the most intense band of the 80s.
While the title is a bit misleading (Nick Cave's full career isn't covered), this book is an important document due to the lack of coverage that the Birthday Party have received since breaking up. Just as intense asIggy & The Stooges, the Sex Pistols, or Joy Division, their music waschaotic, menacing, emotionally charged, and black-hearted. A great deal ofinformation comes straight from band members and the author's attention todetails concerning the songs is rewarding for fans and insightful fornewcomers with adventurous tastes in music. Cave-my kind of Christian
Watching Cave struggle with God (or wrestling, as God is want to do) has been a favourite pastime. Cave, in his introduction, lays himself bare as a seeker of the truth. In despair, he turns to a vicar who suggests he reads Mark. Why? It's short, he is told. Got to love a wise vicar. In the introduction we see a flawed human being searching for salvation. Bristol Beauty (Beauties...) (?...)
I have been a devoted fan of Nick Cave for 20 years still I was not prepared for this book. I guess a good way to summarise the story is to say it is a sophisticated take on American Beauty - in England. Therefore it is a must read. The story about the soap and Darth Vader makes me smile everytime I think of it. Dont forget to listen to Let Love In / To be by your side or something similar once you finished.

I just love it!
This book was recommended to me by a friend from Romania and I was very surprised to know that it was translated into Romanian. I looked it up on Amazon and the seller had great reviews so I immediately placed an order. To my surprise I got it delivered in a couple of days and it was brand new as advertised. I recommend it to anyone daring enough to read something very unconventional.

The bastard. Not content with making provocative genius records for thousands of years. Scripting a decent movie. Co- creating wonderfull film scores he now writes a great novel. Equal to his musical output. An incestuouscousin to "The Road " ( though notas good as that masterpiece ). As twisted and dark as his best lyrics.
