Product Description
"Strategic Human Resource Management: Building Research-Based Practice" is a challenging and engaging student-focused text written by a team of world-class researchers and experienced HRM tutors at Aston University. It is ideal for students taking a HRM or Strategic HRM module at postgraduate and upper-undergraduate level. Structured around contemporary and emerging issues this critical text is designed to encourage students to think analytically about Strategic HRM and builds real-world practice on the basis of solid research evidence. With a unique and thought-provoking range of contents that explores the links between Strategic HRM, Strategic Management and Organisational Behaviour, this text connects theory, research evidence and real-world practice. It also provides examples and case studies covering a variety of organisations, cultures and contexts, with access to the latest in leading-edge thinking. The text also includes integrated consideration of Strategic HRM in an international context, including coverage of emerging markets such as China and India. The Aston Centre for Human Resources (ACHR) was created at Aston Business School, Aston University, in February 2006.The mission of the Centre is both to inform and influence practice through conducting high quality, challenging research in order to extend the existing theoretical frameworks and to develop new and relevant conceptual models to represent and guide the changing realities facing businesses and the people they employ in the 21st century. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars All in one
I was impressed with the amount of good information in this book if you are a novice gardener or more experienced. It gives measurements of products to buy, gardening basics, design, flowers, perennials, annuals, bulbs, and vegetables and herbs just to name the chapters. It contains all the information you would need. In fact, I was so impressed with this book that I ordered it for the library I work at.

5-0 out of 5 stars What More Did I Need to Know? Plenty!
Whether you have just begun breaking ground in your new garden and have no green thumb of which to speak or you are curious about expanding your knowledge, this book has loads of information and easy-to-follow guidelines.
Here you can learn about annuals, perennials, grasses, you can learn how to build a retaining wall, learn all about vegetable gardens, learn about sun and shade plants and flowers, etc. I was very pleased with this book, and I use it as a reference guide.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good general reference
Good overall introduction, with coverage of a various topics. Would be nice to have more images and particular zone information.
Overall, a very good reference.

3-0 out of 5 stars Focused on flowers
I got this book as a gift, and it is good. However, how it says "7 books in 1" on the cover, 6 of these are about landscaping and different types of flowers, only 1 is devoted to vegetables and herbs, which was what I was looking for. It looks great for a flower gardener / hobby landscaper though.

5-0 out of 5 stars More information about gardening than I even knew existed!
First of all, I am a true "gardening dummy".I am trying my hand with gardening for the first time in my life.I bought this book shortly after buying my first house (which came with a yard!)I have always loved the idea of growing lovely plants but have never really tried to do much gardening before. The thing that I really like about this book is that it touches so many subjects! For example, at first, I was reading about general information, plants, soil types, vegetable gardening, etc. but I have found that as I try to grow things in my yard, and a question or problem arises, I can usually find an explanation/solution in this book! It's not super-technical but it does a great job of explaining things to true gardening dummies! ... This book is about a young Eskimo boy named Kyo, who is going to shoot his first seal, but when the time comes, he looks into the seal's eyes and puts the harpoon down.Kyo becomes very good friends with the seal and decidesto name him Tooky. One day, Kyo's uncle comes from the city to capture aseal and bring it back to the city.Every morning Kyo and his uncle go tolook for a seal, so Kyo points him the opposite direction of her normalbreathing hole, but one morning, his uncle gets up earlier than Kyo andfinds the hole.Kyo tries to convince his uncle to let the seal go, but itwas no use.
