It's Beavis and Butthead's version of (huh-huh) sex education in this alleged Survival Guide to Life and Love. Who are Dr. Drew and Adam? Consider them Team Dude from MTV's Loveline show, where they dispense sarcastic and sporadically helpful advice to masses of inquisitive callers-in and listeners. Adam Carolla is supposed to be the funny one (if you like Andrew Dice Clay, you'll love Adam!), and Dr. Drew Pinsky plays the straight man. Very straight, and narrow too, it appears, since the "factual" advice he proffers about women includes the following gems. On vibrators: "a woman who turns away from an emotional connection with a human to go for a mechanical object is somebody who's got some issues." On feelings of homosexuality: "Women particularly will confuse warm, intimate feelings with physical attraction." On women losing their virginity: "It needn't be as big a deal for guys." On three-way sex: it's "unheard of" that such an act be initiated by "a woman who's not abused or who's not a little bit off." There're plenty more where these came from! ace man and drew!
im like eight years late on this book but its defenitely an entertaining and in sightful read

Great book, especially for teens or parents of teens
I love this book!It would especially be good for pre-teens, teenagers, or even the parents of teenagers because it has a lot of good information that teenagers may be scared to ask adults.Plus, sex is discouraged!The book is very funny thoughout, and has a lot of good information.I have listened to Dr. Drew's Loveline radio show for years, and it is always entertaining and informative.

Dr. Drew and Adam do not work as a book!
Huge fan of Adam and Dr. Drew, but I have to agree with the others here:in book form, Dr. Drew comes across as simplistic, and Adam comes across as a boorish lout.This book doesn't work.

Sure, these two had a special chemistry -- that is obvious to everybody.When they did Loveline together, their show was filled with genuine wisdom and some great laughs.

It was weird.Dr. Drew needed Adam, and Adam needed Drew.Their partnership was like an unwitting playing out of the eternal Dionysian/Apollonian conflict raging in each of us.

You could get a sense of this when, because of some scheduling mishap, one was forced to host the show without the other:when Adam was gone, Drew quickly got boring, passionately rambling on about the technical details of various pharmaceuticals, something that was of interest only to him.Adam, the common man, was not there to bring him back down to earth.

But when Adam did the show alone, Drew's moral compass and clarity of purpose were missing, leaving the listener with a vague feeling of outrage and unchecked transgression.

Anyhow, somehow that special magic doesn't translate to the written page.I wouldn't have thought so, but it doesn't.

In sum, you're going to be disappointed if you buy this.

Seems promising.
I'm not entirely sure about this book. But Adam and Dr. Drew on Loveline were perhaps the funniest pair ever recorded on radio. Adam's cutting wit and social insight are perfectly balanced by Dr. Drew's scientific and medical analysis. If you have the chance, check out Loveline clips on YouTube. If this book is even remotely close to the comedy level of the radio show, then it is well worth it. I wish the show was still on.

Intellegent and interesting
I am a huge fan of loveline and have every episode ever aired with Dr. Drew and Adam, I really liked this book because it was not as much about the comedic banter as it was about the real issues, it was more serious then thier show but still very intelectual and interesting, a must read for every fan of loveline! ...
