5-0 out of 5 stars Great Seller
The seller's product arrived a day earlier than the expected date, was in great condition and even better than described. All in all, I can't say enough good things about this entire process. This is what makes internet shopping fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good album
This album had a wide variety of music that was enjoyable to listen to and allow yourself to go where you wanted in your own mind. I do recommend this and there isn't a whole lot of 'fluffy' stuff on it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Enya's albums are fantastic if you want to really test out the power of a sterio.
And with that in mind, this is the reason that I purchased this album. For both car audio & home theater, Enya albums will really put your speakers through a vigorous workout. The result of this workout is a chance for you to properly tune your system so that it sounds pitch perfect.

Way to go, Enya!

3-0 out of 5 stars Shipped timely but was damaged...
I purchased this CD as a present for my Mother. When I finally got an email giving idea of when it would shipped, I emailed the vendor and they responded pretty quickly and said it would arrive there in time...just. "In time" meant 4 days before I needed to mail it to her.

That wasn't the issue for me so much. It was that the CD cover was damaged when I got. Big crack right down the middle. And I had no time to exchange or anything. I just pretended that it had happened in transit to my Mother's house.

Very disappointing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Piano Music
If you like Enya's music, and even if you don't, this book offers some great songs to play on the piano. They are very pretty, and fun to play. Lyrics are included, making singing along relatively easy for anyone who likes to.

The Memory of Trees (no lyrics) is kind of repatitive, and the right hand plays in constant 8ths, but it's lovely and a good exercise.
China Roses (lyrics) is very pretty, but a little difficult to play.
Hope Has a Place and From Where I Am I've played before, but right now they escape my memory (they probably have 5 sharps)....
La Sonadora (Spanish? lyrics) is kind of pretty.
On My Way Home (lyrics) is impossible to play up to speed (unless you have an extra hand) but it's good otherwise.
Once You Had Gold is a very pretty song. I think this is one with 4 or 5 sharps, but once you get over that it's fun to play.
Pax Deorum (Latin? lyrics) I've never played the whole thing, because it is boring to play, even though it sounds nice.
Teahouse Moon (no lyrics) is lots of fun; it is also kind of repatitive, but in a great way that makes it easy to play with the dynamics.
Athair Ar Neahm (Gaelic lyrics) is beautiful, lots of fun to play, and another one where playing with the dynamics is great.
Anywhere Is (lyrics) is kind of difficult, but fun once you can play it.

These aren't difficult songs, despite those with many sharps, but not for beginners. Level 4 and up, maybe?

You probably won't like all the songs in this piano book, but the ones you do like you'll play a lot.

Also recommended are Enya's other piano books (Shepherd Moons & Watermark especially). If you like this you'll like those, and visa versa.
Good luck! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Sheet Music for Piano and Guitar, for Enya Fans
This book contains sheet music for Enya's arguably first studio album, "Watermark", approachable both for piano and guitar. The set-up is clear and pleasant, with every lyrical number as well as the instrumental ones. The only thing that confuses me is that certain songs have been mixed up, such as "On Your Shore" being towards the end of the book when it's one of the album's early tracks. This is hardly more than a minor gaff, however.

I play the piano and what better way to practice is there than study the music you love? This series of books are excellent for aspiring musicians who want to grab two birds in one go by both studying music as well as enjoying the works of Enya. "Miss Clare Remembers" is excellent for those who aren't that advanced yet, while the more advanced can hack away at "Orinoco Flow" and "Cursum Perficio". Highly recommended, a professional and commendable book.

3-0 out of 5 stars Worth buying... but mixed results...
As "A Customer" mentioned, "Watermark" is an easy piece to play. It lends itself to the piano. For this alone, it was worth the price. But other pieces, even if you have the skill to play them, owe their sound to Enya's ethereal style that can only be achieved by artificial sound manipulation.

4-0 out of 5 stars Enya-Watermark
I originally bought this piece for "Miss Claire Remembers",but ened up enjoying the book as a whole for all of the songs titles.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Buy
I recieved this book as a Christmas present about two years ago, and every day when I sit down to practice the piano, I warm up playing pieces from this book."Watermark" is a simple piece and not hard to play wheras Enya's smash hit "Orinoco Flow" presents more of a challenge. If you like Enya's music and are able to play the piano/keyboard, I highly recommend this book. All of the songs on Enya's CD "Watermark" are in this book except for the first "Storms in Africa" track as it appears at the very end of the book as "Storms in Africa II." ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Good learning experience
I enjoyed the CD, and a little over a year ago I started learning to play the piano as an adult.I was a little apprehensive that this book would be over my head, but my piano teacher has already incorporated some of these songs into my "curriculum".The arrangements are a bit challenging for someone at my level of skill, but what saves me is that the tempo of these enchanting songs are slow enough that I can keep up.I am quite happy with this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Music to be played by you
Now, you too, can play the beautiful music of Enya. These beautiful tunes we all love from the CD may be your favorites to sing and hum as you go about your day. And, it's so much better to play them too on the Piano or Guitar.

Product Description
Imagine if the world stopped rotating . . . if the oceans evaporated into desert, if the moon forever eclipsed the sun. Now imagine that this is ancient history, and monsters once men have come to murder your parents, to make your people extinct, to take back their home, your home. Naked and alone but for a blood-thirsty sword, you wander the world for years. But one day, you hear of a city by the sea, besieged by terrorist sea creatures, and when you arrive you discover her, as unnacustomed to clothing as you, the last of your people, a beautiful woman sentenced to death for heresy.

THE DARK AGE OF ENYA tells the tale of a divided world in an age of warfare and poverty, and of the man whose ancestral lineage has fated him to become the Batal of Legend, he who will unite the warring factions and bring peace and prosperity to Enya under his rule. He is Xandr, born in beautiful and little known Ilmarinen, home to a naturist, peace-loving people. As a young boy he is snatched up by the Goddess Alashiya, who comes in the form of a falcon, just as he is to be slaughtered by the Dark Centaur Nessus, along with the rest of his people. Naked and alone he is left to wander, tormented by his past and rejecting the burden that is his fate, a blood-thirsty and skull faced sword his only companion. But in the city of Hedonia, he meets emerald-eyed Thelana, a warrior thief, and a shamelessly nude Ilmarin like himself. Together theyembark upon a journey; along with Grimosse, the stony-toothed golem guardian; and Emma, the raven-haired sorceress; a great journey that will lead them through the Dead Zones to the snowy peaks of Hollow Mountain and the Kingdom of Mythradanaiil, the last bastion of hope against the encroaching armies of the Dark Queen Hatshepsut and Moontalon, the ancient black dragon. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars An Undiscovered Masterpeice
I'll be surprised if anyone is even reading this review. This book is undermarketed, and it's pretty doubtful anyone will find this page, let alone look too far into it.

That being said, if your a fan of fantasy this book is for you. It stays true to basic genre, with your typical Good vs. Evil, Hero discovers his destiny story, but has enough twists, turns and surprises along the way to set it far and above the typical and sadly all too plentiful novels out there which basically paraphrase The Lord of the Rings.

The basic story follows Xandr, a man some believe to be the Batal. A hero who would one day arise from the destruction caused by the Dark Queen Hatshepsut and end the Dark Age of Enya. Xandr, however, is not one of those who believes in such things. For him life is too harsh to worry about those matters. He wanders Enya trying to find his place in it, righting whatever wrongs he can along the way.

Along his journey he meets a band of characters as alone in the world as he, Thelana, the thief, and only other member of Xandr's race he has encountered since infancy, Grimmose, the dimwitted Guardian with a heart of gold and strength of a titan, and Emmalina, the beautiful Sorceress whose past is almost as tragic as our hero's. Each drawn to Xandr, who prefers a solitary existence, and each believing more that he is the savior the legends speak of then he himself does.

The adventures Xandr and company embark on blend traditional fantasy with historical fiction, mystery, and even sci-fi, making this a refreshing break from most novels of the genre. Anyone who has read the CrossGen comic Brath, or to a lesser extent Sojourn will find much of the same flavor inside these pages. Fans of more traditional fantasy however, will still find enough of the usual aspects here to make it more then worth the time and money they invest. This book is a true diamond in the rough, just awaiting discovery by the general public. Give it a try, you won't regret it. I sure didn't. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing purchase
At a family reunion recently, I heard my nephews playing some beautiful piano music from "Lord of the Rings" and the cover of the book they had looked like this one.In sorting through the arrangements to purchase (many with identical covers), and after studying the reviews, I selected "soundtrack piano", thinking this would be the most challenging and interesting arrangement-- most like the film soundtrack as is possible on a piano.I was a music education major in college, so I like at least intermediate level arrangements. I was very disappointed to receive such a thin book containing so many huge movie picturesand proportionately so little music!Plus, I found the keyboard arrangements to be fairly simplistic and sometimes even "empty"/boring.If I can still return/exchange this, I will. Largely a waste of money, if I can't return it.This is why I usually DON'T purchase piano music over the internet unless I've had a chance to review it more thoroughly at a music store first!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great music
I bought this for my 12 year old who tuaght herself piano. She says "I really liked the soundtrack music book. The songs were a little hard, but it was still really fun learning how to play them."

3-0 out of 5 stars It's okay...
the piano isn't very good, too simple.I liked that it had the words to sing along with.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not very much selection
The book is rather thin, but if you're a real lotr music fan, then you won't mind.
All of The Prophecy is included which makes for an interesting experience.
Many Meetings gives you Elrond's theme and a little bit of the Shire.
The beautiful songs Aniron and May It Be are little more than chords which is still better than nothing.
In Dreams is satisfying due to its accuracy and is hard enough to make it pretty.
Lament For Gandalf is really useless. It's just the same two unapealing music phrases for about 5 minutes.
I was rather disappointed with the lack of music from the movie such as Concerning Hobbits,The Bridge of Kazad Dum,and The Breaking of the Fellowship which they should have included. But I have to give it 4 stars just because I love the soundtrack and anything from it is worth getting.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best in soundtrack-to-piano music.
It's books like this that made me wish I had the natural talent for music, or had at least studied and practiced hard enough to develop talent. The motion picture score that Howard Shore composed for The Lord of the Rings trilogy is absolutely brilliant, and while nothing can match his magnificent orchestra, there is something unique and incredible about hearing the same music played on a simple piano -- coming from your very own fingers.

The music on the pages can be described as intermediate level. Beginners will have trouble, but intermediates can slowly pick their way through, depending on their experience, and get better with practice.

The front cover is the same design as the DVD poster, and the original movie promotional art. Inside, 26 pages, including four front-and-back pages containing pictures from the movie.

The tracks you can play are:

- In Dreams, the end-credits song featured in the CD track "The Breaking of the Fellowship".

- The Prophecy, the never-used track that was, I believe, intended for the movie's prologue. The sheet music includes the Elvish lyrics, with the translation following at the end of the song.

- Aníron, the theme for Aragorn and Arwen, as sung by Enya. Again, the Elvish is provided in the music, and the translation at the end.

- Lament for Gandalf, featured in the Lothlorien track. It has the haunting sound that is used for the Elves at that part in the movie, but, as the title suggests, is almost a funeral dirge for Gandalf after the Elves learn of his death. Again, Elvish in the music, translation at the end.

- Many Meetings, the cerebral and heavenly theme for the Elven haven of Rivendell. Probably one of my favorite in the book, and one that, once you learn to play it through, will be something you'll want to play over and over.

- May It Be, the other end-credits song (actually, May It Be is the end credits song, and In Dreams is the *other* one) performed once again by Enya. The lyrics don't make a whole lot of sense, but it's still another quiet one to play. Since Enya only uses a smattering of Elvish in her song, the translation is provided within the music.

I think most fans will agree there were better selections that could have been made for the Fellowship of the Ring sheet music...the Hobbit theme, Moria, and the Bridge of Khazad-Dûm to name a few. But for the Lord of the Rings fans, lovers of gorgeous music, and people who are both, this book makes an excellent gift, or a just-for-you purchase! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Most favorite CD ever
I have played this CD so much that I have even memorized the words in the Gaelic songs (and I don't know the language or even the meanings of the words). This is not what you want to play at your next party but if you want to be soothed or relax then this works great. Her voice and her music are magic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sheet Music for the Beautiful CD
The album "Shepherd Moons" was incredibly beautiful. The music was frequently ethereal and haunting, almost fragile in its delicacy. While it may be impossible for most of us to do anything but hum along, here is a book of her music for the CD.The music for all twelve pieces is included, along with a little background for each piece.

Enya's music is so beautiful, airy and spiritual, that most instruments will yield an interesting interpretation. However, there are some instruments that will be more suitable than others.Keyboards of course, since much of Enya's music is on piano, but guitar, recorder, and violin are among the others that can keep various flavors of her music.I myself prefer the haunting tone of the recorder, keeping in mind that you have to modify the music to accommodate the range of the recorder.I prefer a deeper voiced recorder, I have a tenor recorder, because the music can be slowed for the more haunting songs and I like the emotion that you can put into a song with a tenor recorder.

As with any music, there are challenging pieces and places, but there is also easier music to play from this CD.That the pace of much of the music is relatively slow helps for learning and musical interpretation rather than the much faster pace of rock or even a lot of classical music.Learning to play music from this CD is a fascinating way to enjoy Enya's music.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy!
I learned to play the piano with Miss Claire Remembers from Watermark. This stuff is so easy to play and sounds so beautiful... and it is easy to memorize, I don't even need the book anymore.

5-0 out of 5 stars a great book!
The music in Shepherd Moons is easier to play than Memory of Trees. An advanced player could easily sightread the music; therefore, it is not a challenging book. However, the music is gorgeous and fun to play. I've been playing it every day since I bought the book last week.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great music to play
This is a really good music book. Shepherd Moons is my favorite Enya album and now I have fun playing the music. I'velearned how to play No Holly For Miss Quinn very well. This music is at first hard to play(which shows how advanced her music is)but if you stretch your hands and practive often, you may be able to play very well.

Enya's music is very well arranged. The music often smoothly changes key majors and flows from measure to measure.People studying music theory will probably like to look at this book and see Enya's structure of music.Any critic of her music should get this book and see how well written her music is.It's very nicely done. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Sheet Music!
This Book is awesome. If you do not have the best piano skills but can play a little you will be able to play it.But, if you are an excellent piano player you will still enjoy it and be able to play it.My sister and I both got this book. She is more advanced than I am but we both enjoy playing out of it.If you are looking for some fun piano music to play this would be an excellent choice!

5-0 out of 5 stars Paint the sky with stars
Collection ordered because it was the only way to purchase the the msuic/lyrics for "Paint the Sky With Stars. Will be utilized as a choral anthem at Church.Other songs in the collection are a bonus and will give hours of enjoyment at the Piano.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book - Intermediate Level
This a great book for intermediate piano players.Enya's music translates to piano very well.Intermediate players will probably be able to play several of the songs right off the bat, but there is enough challenge to keep it interesting.Great book!

3-0 out of 5 stars Poor Transcription of an excellent album.
Although Enya's music is superb, the transcriptions in this book leave something to be desired.Part of the trouble is of course due to the difficulty of arranging music originally for multiple instruments and voices for solo piano, but on other instances it seems to be more thoughtlessness on the parts of those who transcribed the music. For example:

-Several of the pieces, such that "Anywhere is" and "The Memory of Trees" are very repetitive. In the original pieces, the harmonies and background change over the course of the song.In these arrangements, each verse is notated exactly the same.

-In "The Celts", a D.S. al. Coda is given without any indication as to what point in the music the player is supposed to skip to the Coda

-In "Storms in Africa", there are sections where the pianist is asked to play three notes simultaneously, each of which is at least an octave and a fifth apart from the others.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tienes 3 manos?
Suerte!

5-0 out of 5 stars Enya's music creates a window into the soul
What I think is especially unique about Enya's music is that she creates a mood all her own and a sense of familiarity; as if revealing some hidden memory of the distant past. I feel her music creates a sense of balance and harmony, as well as the experience of being alive. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A Touching Tale Of Life & Loyalty
Fairy Agent Enya Polaris is a sixteen year-old girl among a race of fairies more than a millennia her senior, but that won't ever stop her from trying to keep U.T.O.P.I.A., the agency her family founded, alive and running. She faces the constant challenges of being a teenager and of being the One from the prophecies her species found and are trying to decipher. Enya gets kidnapped by the son of a human man that her family died to save, and he wants to bind her to him so that he can turn her over to the government to prove his father is not crazy. Will Enya escape her captor? Or will they end up working together in order to rescue his father from the Happy Hollows insane asylum?
Enya's Light is a tale about family, loyalty, faith, and budding love. Throughout the story, Enya relies solely on her faith to help her through her hardships. Even though none of the other Fairies believe her, she sticks to her beliefs and tries to get them to understand them as well. Her captor, Aiden, is like an M&M; he's hard on the outside, but definitely has soft, sweet center. Enya's Light is a refreshing story by a young author who definitely has a bright future ahead of her. Highly recommended to all the fantasy readers out there, as well as readers who share the faith with Enya.

3-0 out of 5 stars Amarantine soothes
I am an Enya appreciator, starting as probably most Enya appreciators began, with her album, Shepherd Moons.

Amarantine seems the closest match in quality to the unmatchable Shepherd Moons that Enya has produced.

Of course the above is about the CDs, not the sheet music.I buy the sheet music so I can play along (on French horn!) with the album, or grab a live pianist when I can, to duet with.

The book, like most music books, is not made for players who hold instruments. The binding resists opening flat, and there are page turns at bad times.I would like to see a separable solo part in song books - they are almost never produced. Some work with scanning or other copying could fix that, but the publisher ought to fix it.I would gladly pay a bit more for it.

Otherwise, happy times now playing along...

I have nothing of interest to say about the depth of the philosophy or psychology of the lyrics in the songs. This is sweet calming music with or without words. It is a good experience to enter such a calm state while attempting to tempt beautiful sounds to emerge from the business end of a French horn.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Action Continues In This Tantalizing Sequel
Enya Polaris is a teenage fairy, and she's come to realize that she's currently experiencing the hardest years, if not months, of her life. After she is released from her three-month probation for being captured by humans, she is again enslaved by Aiden Reiche, who she has come to know as her dear friend. The use of this slavery makes their relationship suffer, but Enya is bound to Aiden until they find his mother. Not only is Enya bound to Aiden, but an evil pixie is trying to kidnap them both. The teens find out just how connected their lives are once the prophecies are revealed. With the entrance of a strange man in Enya's dreams and a war unfolding right in front of them, Enya becomes overwhelmed with all of her responsibilities and tasks at hand. Will this be the end of Enya? Or will her faith keep her above water in order for her to defeat their enemies once more?
Enya's Shadow is a solid sequel in the Enya Series. It is filled with strong moral standards and family values. The use of new characters and relationships really brings the story to life, making it a fairy tale readers of any age can enjoy. Kristalyn Vetovich is a strong young writer who has created a world second to none with the use of magic, creatures, and sparkling personalities.
