Extrait : Sylva Koscina, née le 22 août 1933 à Zagreb, Croatie, (alors en Yougoslavie), décédée le 26 décembre 1994 à Rome, est une actrice italienne d'origine yougoslave ayant joué dans près de 80 films. Étudiante en sciences à l'université de Naples, elle se lance dans le cinéma. Élue Miss Da Tapa en 1952 Belle et spirituelle, elle est engagée par de nombreux réalisateurs (en 1958 elle joue dans onze films et en 1962, dans huit films) et obtient des salaires qui lui permettent de se lancer dans la construction et l'aménagement d'une maison particulièrement luxueuse dans le quartier Marino de Rome. Les frais d'entretien la menèrent à vendre cette luxueuse résidence en 1976. Elle défraya la chronique à la fin des années soixante, après un mariage secret raté avec l'industriel Raimondo Castelli, débouchant sur une plainte pour bigamie déposée à l'encontre de son époux, déjà marié à Marinella au sein de l'Église catholique qui refuse le divorce. Le mariage eut donc lieu au Mexique en 1967, sans être reconnu en Italie. Elle s'essaya aussi à Hollywood, en jouant avec des partenaires comme Paul Newman et Kirk Douglas dans Mourir doucement. En France, elle donne la réplique à Lino Ventura et Belmondo. En Italie, elle fait ses dernières apparitions dans des spots publicitaires. Elle est décédée d'un cancer. Prior to World War II Shomrony studied to be a veterinarian. After the establishment of the Independent State of Croatia and the enactment of race laws, he was forced to stop his studies. He was employed at the Jewish municipality in Zagreb as the secretary of the chief rabbi Miroslav Shalom Freiberger. In mid-1943 Shomrony escaped Zagreb, shortly before the city's remaining Jews were taken to Auschwitz . His route took his family from Zagreb to Budapest, through Romania and Bulgaria to Istanbul, and in 1944 he arrived in Palestine. Shomrony twice nominated the war-time archbishop of Zagreb Aloysius Stepinac to be listed among the Righteous Among the Nations : in 1970 and in 1994. He returned to Croatia in 1996 to participate in a conference on Stepinac. As part of the visit he appeared in the documentary film Svjedok istine . Shomrony died in 2009.
