5-0 out of 5 stars I wish I could invite her for coffee
I saw Teri Garr on The Bonnie Hunt show, and it reminded me of all the years I have enjoyed watching her in movies and on TV. I knew her book would be funny, so I read it for a pick-me-up. It was even better than I had imagined! It was like sitting down to catch up with a favorite friend.

Her narrative is witty and classy. She shares fond stories of her life and career, without ever dragging anyone through the mud (and we all know she could have). Her resilience shines through out the book. Whether she was pounding the pavement looking for acting roles or dealing with symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis, her attitude is appreciative and optimistic.

Her book is not only entertaining, but a lesson in moving forward, and focusing on what is important in life. Thank you Ms. Garr for having the courage to be "real" in a business that discourages it! Blonya has become a motto in our house. And Ms. Mantel thank you for your contributions as well. I sincerely hope another book is on the way!

4-0 out of 5 stars Ditzy Actress, Ditzy Book
This adorable actress has written a scatterbrained book that glosses over her time with major stars, ignores her vices and just plain gets some facts wrong about her own career! But in the end her perky attitude makes it fun to read.

Just be warned--it's filled with frustrations:she hung out with Elvis, the Beatles, Steve Spielberg, etc.And yet she usually just has one short, silly story to tell about each person instead of giving any insight into her or the others. She hints at a few sinful pleasures, but writes the book in such a way that her teenage daughter wouldn't ever find out what they were. And worst is that she can't seem to timeline her own life--she claims she had no other job than acting a page after she just talked about having a job at a department store! She says she comes back from New York in 1964 and the next page she says then it was the "late '60s," only to talk about 1965!

It's also sad to hear her admit to so much lying in order to get work. She repeatedly tells stories of telling lies to get an apartment, putting lies on her resume, etc.A moral role model she's not--so if she's trying to convince us that she's nothing like her image then we get it!

Chalk some of it up to her being as ditzy in the book as she is on screen. She's just so charming that it still makes the book worthwhile. This is fun to breeze through but lacks much substance.

5-0 out of 5 stars A breath of fresh air
What a great read. Teri has a quirky, sarcastic wit that comes through brilliantly in this book.I just wish it was longer.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent, Funny, Enlightening, Informing...
I have always enjoyed Teri Garr as an actress and thought her book would be enjoyable. But it went far beyond that! She is fabulous.I can only imagine knowing her "in-person" and what a blast she must be to have as a friend. She has a similar attitude toward MS that I would like to say Itook toward cancer and she is quite a hero.Ms. Garr deserves to live a long, rich, happy and healthy life! Please enjoy the book!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The classy Teri Garr
Teri Garr is the type of person who you wish you knew personally. She is so down to earth in a celebrity world that is full of over prententious egos.I have enjoyed her movie roles and the interchanges that she had with David Letterman on his show were classic. The book is an entertaining look into life that demonstrated her tenaciousness to get what she wanted while keeping a wonderful sense of humor. She takes those two qualities with her as she fights multiple sclerosis. We all should have her attitude regarding the challenges that we face in life. ...
